Welcome to the Jacobson Lake British Columbia Recreation Site, the gateway to our history. Discover the many treasures of the majestic Tulameen River valley and the high alpine ridges. Take a dip in a pristine alpine pond. Enjoy a hike in the Cascade Mountains and take in the great scenery.

Driving directions to Jacobson Lake Recreation Site:FromHwy#3(HopetoPrinceton):HeadwestoutofPrincetonontheCoalmontRoad.AtTulameenfollowtheRiverRoadandwatchforsigns.

FromHwy#5(HopetoMerritt):TakeCoquihallaLakesExit#228offthefreeway.TurnsoutheastontotheTulameenRiverForestServiceRoadandwatchforsigns.

CAUTION: Drive with your lights on and watch for industrial traffic.

1 Tulameen Falls: Easygrade,1kmtrailintospectacularwaterfalls.Allow1hourforthe2kmreturntripfrom30.2kmTulameenRiverFSR.Shorthikeforahotday.Swiminthecrystalclearriverpoolsorshowerinthefall’scoolmist.

2 Vuich Falls Recreation Site: A3vehiclesitewithanearbytrailthatviewsthecascadingwatersofVuichCreek.

3 Sutter Creek Recreation Site: A3vehiclesiteonthehighbanksofSutterCreek.Brightandopensitenestledalongsidearushingmountainstream.

4 Jacobson Lake Recreation Site: A6vehiclesitewithhorsecorralsat45.8kmontheTulameenRiverFSR.Maintrailheadandparkingareafortrailusers.

5 Vuich Historic Trail: Easygrade,1kmreturntripfromJacobsonLake.ShortsectionoftheoriginalTulameenvalleypackhorsetrail.ConnectswiththeHudsonBayCompanyTrailandtheRiceHistoricTrailsouthofJacobsonLake.

6 Rice Historic Trail: Moderategrade,4kmreturntrip.Allow2hours.Followtheoldtrailusedbyprospectorsandtrappersintolushgrassymeadowslitteredwithtinyponds.

7 Hudson Bay Company Trail:“WEST”DiscovertherouteusedbytheFurBrigadesfrom1849-1860.Moderategrade,7.5kmreturntripfromthemaintrailjunction,allow3.5hours.Thepristine“PalmerPond”isat1805metresandthe“CascadeDivide”isat1850metreselevation.

8 Hudson Bay Company Trail: “EAST”.Challengeyourselftoabackcountrycampingexperience.FollowtheheritagerouteovertheTulameenRivercrossingatHorseguardCamp.HikethroughthemagesticmountaindefilesandupontotheTulameenPlateau,endingontheWhatcomTrail.Bepreparedforover20kms(oneway)ofremotehiking.Notracecampingpolicyapplies.

9 Grant Pond Trail: ExplorethehuntinggroundsoflegendaryIndianBlackeye.TrailforksoffoftheWestsectionoftheHudsonBayCompanytrailat2.5km.Easygrade,4kmreturntriphikethroughsubalpinemeadowsalongthebaseofMt.Davis.
