INTENTIONS
What is my documentary setting out to achieve?
My documentary is setting out to educate people on the rise in tuition fees. Itwill make people see why the government voted for the rise and how it willeffect students.
What am I:
Challenging Im going to try and keep my documentary equal and not biasbecause Im going university. My angle will be the differences between the twotypes of people, who are and arent going university. This means that it willappeal to both types of my target audience.
Exploring Im going to explore what effects this rise in fees will have onthe students. My angle will be what they will need to do to getmoney to pay it
off or if there not going university thenwhat they will be doing instead.
Investigating Im going to investigatewhy the government voted for the risein fees. My angle will be whyNick Clegg changed his mind.
Proving Im going to prove that there was no need to raise the fees. My anglewill be showing the difference of people attending university to now and
before. As well as what it means for thepoorer people.

THE MARKEThttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8J6zMa0pjhw
The first one is on the rise of tuition fees as so is my one, so this issimilarity. Also it will target the same people as mine because it talksabout the effects of the rise. It also talks to lecturers and students aswill mine.My one will be different because I will make mine more entertaining. Thisone doesnt have any music that appeal to audience and it also doesnthave any funny bits. My documentary will have both music that my audiencewill like and also a bit of laughter.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXYv7OAXUsc
This is a very old documentary but it does have some similarities. One is that it talks about universities but unlike mine
it is a promotional video for a documentary, where mine will be talking and explaining to people about the rise in tuition
fees. Another similarity is that it uses different shot. With my documentary I will use many different shots so that it is
not dull to watch.
A difference is that mine will have a presenter talking and you will be able to actually see the presenter. As this is a very
old documentary they didnt use a presenter. Another difference is that mine will have interviews will people who are
experts in their field and this will help my documentary as the people can give more knowledge on the topic to the
audience.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlxTYSnRDZ8
This is a more recent documentary and it also does have some similarities to what my documentary will have. One is that
its shows different senses when the presenter is talking or interviewing someone. This is like mine because when Im
going to interview someone I will have cutaways of different pictures and videos to illustrate what the interviewee is
talking about. Another similarity is that it has facts and figures. This helps the audience see the real amount of whatever
the presenter is talking about. For my documentary I will also use facts and figures in my documentary to try and shock
and show the truth about the rise in tuition fees.
The difference with this documentary is that it has an older target audience than mine. I will be targeting 16-24s so mydocumentary will have to be more appealing to this target.
