Frayer Model

Definition: The process of moving from one nation to

another. The nation receiving the immigrant is responsible for naturalizing -

setting rules for how that immigrant becomes a citizen.

Characteristics: Causes of Immigration: - Lack of opportunities causes people to move- Violence, war, persecution- Poverty Effects of Immigration: - Resistance from majority culture - Diversity - Overpopulation - Cheap labor

A Jewish family coming to the United States from Nazi Germany during WWII.
