A LETTER FROM THE EDITORS-IN-CHIEFDear Reader,

Welcome to the November-December issue of UNIT-E. The issues have been combined to make one bumper issue that will keep you company during the cold winter nights and usher in the festive season. Cuddle your UNIT-E, but watch out for paper cuts.

The focus of this issue, naturally, is studying. Exams are coming up and the moment where nearly five months of learning is consolidated into five days definitely warrants theme-status. Standardized testing is only just around the corner and the academics column is full of helpful hints to ace those tests. On that note, ever wonder why we take tests? Student’s opinion has some interesting takes on this question by students all around Beijing.

We would also like to take this space to congratulate the Guest Speaker’s Choice Award winners, the _ Team, for their spread created at the publication workshop. All participants persevered through scary advertisement bosses, tough deadlines and math problems to create a magazine spread (or two). If you couldn’t join us at the workshop, you can read all about it in the next few pages and see the winning spread.
