“My Midterm Holiday” Creative ResponseYear 12

During my Midterm holiday, I spent all day playing games. When I play games I feel like I live in another world and it makes me very happy. I had an exam coming up so I had to stop playing my game, but I couldn’t control myself, so I didn’t stop. The night before the exam, I stayed up playing games with my friends till midnight. The next morning I got up very early but my brain felt like it was still sleeping.

All together I took 3 exams: math, physics, and English. When I saw the math and physics questions, they just looked like an alien language to me, and I found it very hard to understand. The English portion seemed very easy, but after I finished I realized I did it all wrong. After the test was over, I felt like I was being released from prison, and I went home to play games again.

Where do you usually go to spend your holiday? For me, a holiday is a time to play games without the interruption of school and homework. For my Midterm holiday I planned to play games every day with my friends, but my plan was attacked by the Thammasart University examination. I tried to stop playing computer games but I couldn’t do it because games are everything in my life. So my mom commanded me to go to a tutor. It was like being a prisoner on death row.

When I tried to take the test, my brain was switched off and I couldn’t understand the questions, so I just prayed to God and guessed. I had to do this for three subjects, and the exam took three hours. Afterward I sped home so I could finish playing games with my friends

My midterm holiday was a real nightmare. Other people can’t wait for this time to relax, but……..that wasn’t for me. I didn’t really get to go anywhere! Yeah, you heard it right…nowhere. I spent the time doing extra studies. Ahhh, why God, why? I did all the same studying that I did during the school year, seriously!

My mother said, “This is for your own benefit. You’ll be getting into a good university,” blah-blah-blah. Give me a break! Ugh, I’m just so tired of all this university stuff.

Where do you usually go to spend your holiday? Do you go somewhere nice? Or do you stay at home? Are your holidays fun? For me a holiday is a time to rest after studying a lot and taking tests. Studying really makes me tired. Staying at home and playing games is the best option for my holiday. But if I need to go out, I prefer my friend’s house.

At his house, I spent more than five hours playing games with my friends. We play Tekken Tag Tournament 2. There was one round when I only had about 10% of my health left but my opponent ran into me, and Kaboom! He died. I defeated him with one attack. I just pushed random buttons and won.

One day, before the holiday ended, my friends and I went to Rachaburi. We went to the forest to collect mushrooms. But I could only find poison ones. And when school started, I skipped the first week.

Recently, I bought a KitKat from 711. Inside was a golden ticket to the moon. There are only five tickets but millions of KitKats all over the world.

Soon afterward, I traveled to NASA, and then to the moon. The moon was fun but all I wanted was a KitKat!

.Untitled

by Ethan James Booth (Year 11)

Removal of the eyesGives my heart saddened chills;I preserve them in formaldehyde,To gaze upon at will. How their greenish flecks be-filled me,On that star-lit winter's night. How I lost all I ever was,

While locked within her sight. The coils of entrails.

How curious the smell.
