Victoria Gamberoni

Victoria Gamberoni’s figures float suspended in a tapestry of soft brushstrokes; her faces remain an elusive suggestion. The serene body of works rest beneath a dreamlike lens, with motion and presence communicated in the bleed of an occasional outline. Scratches to the surface of her board together with collective painted layers lend each piece both the honesty of a drawing made in situ and the fluency of a sketch.

With awards to her name such as the Brownsword Prize and Ian Black Prize presented to her by the Prince of Wales, and more recently the Farrow and Ball Prize for her stunning depic-tion of The Pump Rooms in Bath, Gamberoni has established her practice, at the same time as running painting courses for many years, both locally and abroad.

Moira Huntly PPS RI RSMA RWA

Painted layers are built up in echo of the tessellating architecture present in Moira Huntly’s ambient works; neighbouring houses linked in playful composition and luminescent in warm palette. Optimism resides in Moira’s high-contrast, stippled application; her process visible and openly constructed as stripped-back line perches weightlessly atop wholesome undertone.

Huntly is a member and past president of the Pastel Society as well as a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water-colour and Royal Society of Marine Artists. She is also a Royal West of England Acadamician. Huntly is an authority in her field, teaches extensively and is a published author. Her works are held in both public and private collections across the world.

Norma Stephenson PS

Soft pockets of pastel colour communicate Norma Stephenson’s adoration for the British landscape; their application a considered balance of romance and vitality. Lines thread, dancing, amidst an array of luscious hues and inform us of perspective; their energy released in their scoring onto paper. A cunning navigation through entropy and composure is signature to Norma’s body of works.

Stephenson is highly regarded for her unique use of pastel, winning awards such as the The Pastel Society Award and The Artist Magazine Award, along with attaining first prize in the well established Windsor and Newton award.
