In�December�2006�Albania�passed�the�Law�on�Measures�against�Violence�in�Family�Relations

1.�Policy�review�for�protective�legal�and�social�environment1.�The�project�helped�with�the�formulation�of�the�first�National�Strategy�on�Gender�Equality�and�Domestic�Violence�(2007�2010)2.�VAW�Project�helped�GoA�to�develop�the�secondary�legislation�on�the�basis�and�for�the�implementation�of�the�DV�Law3.�Lobbied�for�and�supported�the�creation�of�a�core�unit/section�at�the�MOLSAEO�to�deal�with�DV�issues�
1.�Conducted�the�first,�baseline�survey�on�prevalence�and�incidence�of�domestic�violence�against�women�and�children�– 56%�of�women�have�experienced�some�form�of�violence�in�family�relationships;�57.7%�of�children�from�10�14�years�old�report�being�physically�abused.
2.�Trained�140�police�members,�400�health�workers�and�110�judges�and�prosecutors�on�the�implementation�of�the�DV�law
3.�Developed�a�manual�for�police�and�another�for�health�workers�in�handling�domestic�and�gender�based�violence�cases
4.�Organised 12�community�coordination�workshops�for�300�officials�and�representatives�of�local�authorities,�where�the�DV�law�was�explained�and�participants�brainstormed�on�how�to�build�inter�disciplinary�collaboration�
