VISIBLE LIGHT

DEFINITION

Visible light is a range of electromagnetic radiation that can be detected by the human

eye.We see these waves as the colors of the rainbow. Each

color has a different wavelength. Red has the

longest wavelength and violet has the shortest wavelength. When all the waves are seen

together, they make white light.VISIBLE LIGHTD

FREQUENCY AREA

Visible light has frequency area between 430 – 750 THz (1 THz =

1012 Hz).

VISIBLE LIGHTFREQUENCY

WAVELENGTH

A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 – 790 nm. The wavelength of visible light

is between 400 – 790 nm.WAVELENGTH

The colors of visible light have different wavelength and frequency

one each other.

Blue ~500 to 400 nm ~600 to 700 THz

Cyan ~520 to 500 nm ~580 to 600 THz

Green ~565 to 520 nm ~530 to 580 THz

Yellow ~590 to 565 nm ~510 to 530 THz

Orange ~625 to 590 nm ~480 to 510 THz

Red ~790 to 625 nm ~430 to 480 THz

Who was discover the visible light?

Visible light was discover by Sir Issac Newton at 1704. He tested the visible light from the sun that through on a prism and produces a bearn of light that can divided into several colors such as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. D

How is Visible Light Produced?

VISIBLE LIGHT

How to happen?When white light

shines through a prism, the white light is broken apart

into the colors of the visible

light spectrum. Water vapor in the atmosphere can also break

apart wavelengths

creating a rainbow.

Each color in a rainbow corresponds to a different wavelength of

electromagnetic spectrum.

Conclusion• Visible light waves are the only

electromagnetic waves that we can see.

• visible light wave has a wavelenght (λ) is 400- 790 nm, while Frequency (f) of visible light wave is 400- 750 THz.

• Visible light found by Roger Bacon, Sir Isaac Newton, and Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe.

• Application: Satellite, Spectofotometer, and rainbow.C
