We will have a good OLD FASHION BOXED LUNCH celebration this Sunday, following the 11:30 AM Mass in the church hall, and offer all an opportunity to thank Deacon Tom.

I know that the Parish is very thankful for the many years of dedicated service to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, he will be

missed especially at the Easter Vigil.

This year’s 79th Catholic Appeal invites us to bear witness to the many ways our generous gifts today help ensure a brighter tomorrow. The agencies and apostolates supported by the Appeal provide opportunities for the youth of our Diocese to grow in their faith, while establishing and deepening lifelong Catholic values. Your Appeal gift makes invaluable experiences possible, such as campus ministry, scouting, the St. Vincent de Paul Program at Cathedral Camp, and youth programs and services.

If your circumstances permit you to make a one-time gift or a pledge, please complete the contribution card, and mail it to the Catholic Appeal of the Diocese of Fall River, 450 Highland Avenue, Fall River, MA 02720. Please make your checks payable to the "Catholic Appeal."

You can also make secure online donations by visiting www.givefrdiocese.org/2020. Your gift, no matter what size, extends God’s life-changing love across the divide.

This year the Holiday Fair will take place on Friday, November 13th from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday, November 14th, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the lower Church Hall.

We would also like our parishioners to consider DONATING already made GIFT BASKETS or DONATING GIFT CERTIFICATES. The success of the Fair is completely dependent on how one vibrantly takes part. This is a fun parish event; lets also have fun in bringing it to fruition. Keep those spirits HIGH!!

In an attempt to continue our amazing success from last year with our “Christmas in August” trees, we are again asking you to make your Holiday Fair donations during the month of August for our Annual Holiday Fair.

Throughout the month of August, the Holiday trees will again appear at all three entrances of the church, and will hold little sand pails that detail items needed to make this year’s Holiday Fair a success.

Take as many sand pails from the trees as you feel you can provide the items for, and return the items, along with the pails you chose. Donation boxes will be found at each of the church entrances, near the trees.

We will be looking for gift cards for area restaurants, grocery stores, gasoline and home stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s, but will also need items for our booths, such as Lottery Tickets, Adult Instant Win, New Toys and Jewelry.

If you instead wish to make a monetary donation towards the purchase of our large raffle items, please put your donation in a marked envelope addressed to either of our two secretaries: Dianne or Joan – Holiday Fair Donation. Please place that envelope in the collection basket, or drop it off at the Rectory, Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In advance, thank you so very much for your enthusiasm and generous support – please know that they are very much appreciated!

Because of your generosity your St. Vincent de Paul conference was able to help families with assistance from January through June 2020.

We provided families with Food, Gift Cards for Food totaling $1,732.00, Oil, $853.00 and Rent $1,792.00.

THANK YOU FOR HELPING US TO HELP OTHERS.
