CONNECTGROUPS

What is a Christian parent’s role in their kids future marriage? What does gender have to do with this? How is this different from much of culture today?

Why do you believe Scripture shows repeatedly that “sons marry and daughters are given in marriage”?

When guys and girls in the church doesn’t have Christian parents, how can the church and the church culture we’ve created help in this area? Can you think of other examples in Scripture of this? (the Shulamite’s brothers in Song of Solomon)

How can we continue to create a culture of this within our church? How is this important as singles or college students?

Do you think Naomi gave good advice to Ruth? Why is it important to still be obedient to God with risk? How did

Ruth do this? How was Boaz an example of a biblical man in his response to

Ruth when she was at the foot of his bed? How was Ruth’s response and Boaz’s words about Ruth an

example of biblical womanhood and the Proverbs 31 women? How did God redeem what seemed like a very risqué, scandalous

situation? How does God redeem similar situations today? In your life? In

others? What exactly is a Kinsman-Redeemer? What does that mean for

Boaz? How does this relationship and future marriage point to the

covenant we enter into with Jesus?

CONCLUSION How did God speak to you through His Word and this story? What steps do you need to take because of what He has said?

PRAYER TIMEShare prayer requests as a group tonight and send them to graham@cpclex.org as soon as you finish so they can be shared with the other connect groups, This will help us be unified and pray together for the things God is doing in our lives and in our church, Pray as a group tonight.
