Wedgewood Junior School is located in a diverse community. Theschool serves students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. Ourparents speak more than 32 languages at home and about onethird of our students speak English as their second language. Theschool provides a dynamic, positive and productive environmentfor all students. There is a close and co-operative partnershipbetween the school and the community that results in additionalsupport, enhanced resources and programs for students, thanksto parental involvement. Wedgewood staff work collaboratively toplan and deliver classroom programs so that all students canachieve success in a positive, nurturing learning environment.

Inter-school Athletic TeamsWedgewood offers a variety of athletic teams for students in grades 1-5. We enter both Boys' andGirls' Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Slo-Pitch, X-country, and Track and Field.

Technology in the ClassroomAt Wedgewood, we use technology across to engage and enhance learning for all students.Technology helps teachers differentiate instruction to helps students demonstrate what they know tothe best of their abilities. Wedgewood is fortunate to have a full computer lab. We have recentlypurchased new iPads for our Primary students and Chromebooks for our Junior students.

Extra Curricular ActivitiesThe staff offer a number of extra curricular activities including Choir,Art Club, Primary and Junior Coding, Primary Lego League, LibraryClub, Drumming, Yoga Club and the Outdoor Club.

Parent and Community Engagement

The Wedgewood Family & School Association is the name ofWedgewood’s Parent Council. It is open to all parents, grandparentsand guardians of Wedgewood students, and members of the schoolstaff. By becoming an active member of the Association you can:Become acquainted with other parents and teachers; Exchangeideas, concerns and gain a better understanding of the needs of ourchildren; and Learn about the programs and policies of the schooland the Toronto District School Board. Parents can participate in the association by attending its meetings,or by volunteering for any of these committees: Committee,Communications Committee, Social Committee, Health & SafetyCommittee, Board Liaison Committee, Community Outreach,Welcoming Committee
