• Organic farming is when a farmer uses no harmful pesticides to make his/hers crops better. Organic farming is better for you by a

Organic farmers only use pesticides that are needed. Such as keeping bugs out of worms.

What is conventional farming?

• Conventional farming is when farmers use as many pesticides as they want. They use pesticides that make crops taste fresher, and to keep ALL bugs away.

Comparisons: Fertilization

Organic• Natural fertilizers

are used for the plants and soil in organic farming

Conventional• Chemical fertilizers

are more harmful .• CHEMICAL

fertilizers are used to provide nutrients for the growth of crops in conventional farming.

Comparisons: Pest, disease, weed control

Organic Pesticides are not allowed in organic farming. Certain pesticides can be allowed sometimes if needed.

Conventional In Conventional farming, there are over 450 pesticides which are permitted for use.Many of these pesticides are poisonous.

The Difference

• Organic apple • Non – organic apple

Don’t be fooled. They use pesticides to make conventional apples the perfect shape.

Not that bad

• All this doesn’t mean that conventional farming is the worst thing that you can do to yourself. It’s honestly not that bad. You have been eating Non – organic lunches ever since kindergarten. I’m just saying that organic farming is better for you and also tastes better.
