POWER TRANSMISSION

WIRELESS TRANSMISSION

REACHES ZENITH

Technology changes its face every day. From Telephone to cellular phone, Analogue to touch screens and many more………..

One of such revolutionary aspects is the wireless transmission of signals. It sounds less Sci-Fi than once it was. Internet could be accessed without wired broadband using Wi-Fi, files can be easily transferred using wireless Bluetooth………

This idea became a brainchild of a physicist Hatem Zeine .It became an attempt to transmit even electric power wirelessly .He dreamed of it and designed it’s prototype by working for the delivery for about a decade. He commercialized the invention and filed his first patent in 2007

The technology was named COTA and announced on September 9 2013.It is the magic of Electromagnetic systems and Magnetic resonance

HATEM ZEINE

The prototype consists of a receiver to receive electric power and a transmitter of a PC tower size to transmit power. The COTA receiver is incredibly small technology that can be embedded on micro-chips making it ideal for use in even the smallest of devices. COTA can integrate into the battery itself without changing dimensions.

THE RECEIVER.

This technology is almost similar to Wi-Fi and has a range of transmitting power for a distance of 30 feet. The signal could pass around and through the walls.

This extraordinary invention witnessed when Zeine charged an Apple iPhone 5 by putting transmitter over a distance of 30 feet.

APPLICATIONS: 1. This could replace the numerous wired power connections in sensitive facilities like oil and gas refineries by making fewer live cables lying around. 2. This is extremely safe for people, children and pets. 3. This turns ON only when devices are available and hibernates when not in use that prevents loss of power 4. It does not disrupt any other wireless signal like Wi-Fi and is also Eco friendly.

DRAWBACKS:1. Since it is a wireless device the signal losses are more and efficiency decreases.2. It could not be used for a device out of range.
