ZEROPOACHINGPoaching is devastating the wild tiger population.

We have lost 97% of our wild tigers in just over a century. With as few as 3,200 remaining, action is needed to increase and strengthen their habitat and protect the species from major threats such as poaching.

If we are ever to realize the recovery of this magnificent species, we must stop poachers in their tracks now.

ZEROPOACHINGis more than just a slogan.

It is a target that we have to aim our efforts towards as a vial and urgent part of the redoubling of our efforts to bring the tiger back.

WWF is looking to the global tiger conservation partners meeting to assess progress one year on from the historical tiger summit, to launch a joint operation to immediately propel efforts towards a zero poaching future as fast as possible.

TIGERSUMMITEarly in 2012, the Tiger Countries and partners will meet to look back on progress since the Summit and plan for the next year. It is vital to the success of the partnership and to the recovery of the tiger that a specific joint action is launched immediately to identify the initial “critical tiger breeding habitats” to be made free from poaching; commit the funds now and for the foreseeable future to protect sites; monitor and report on the progress towards Zero Poaching, including Law Enforcement Monitoring and management of core sites; identify and put in place the resources to end poaching at these sites including more effective and motivated field staff; and design further action to halt poaching outside of the core areas.

PRODUCTDESIGNSWhile further planning and deliberations are being made regarding our immediate goals for Zero Poaching, we came up with several designs for products which will hopefully be released sometime in the near future.

With the help of these products alongside other campaign projects we are currently working on for the cause, we aim to make people more aware of not only the current situation of the tiger species, but also our efforts of preventing the complete extinction of said species.
