FAMOUS LOGO REDESIGNTHE BRIEF:
Cadbury recently spent over £1million to rebrand their famous logo. The design was
highly critiqued for it’s similarity to the original design at such a high cost.
I would like you to consider your favourite brands and how they communicate with
their audience/ consumer.
Your task is to review the mood boards you created last week. You now need to decide what famous brand you will design a new logo from your 3 mood boards.
You will need to design 3 alternative ideas on paper using colouring pencils or on computer software (such as paint). You should use any stationery you have available
and your imagination to challenge yourself to inventive design concepts.
You should then complete a WWW (what went well?) and EBI (even better if) for each design and decide which design is your most successful. You can do this on a word
document or simply on the back of your paper.
SUCCESS CRITERIA:
• Think about the colours which represent the brand- how are these different or similar to competitive brands?
• Consider the text and the font used; are these simplistic, modern, bold, decorative or traditional?
• Consider the shapes involved in the logo; are they symbolic (for example Micky Mouse ears in the Disney Channel logo)? Do they enclose text?

You have now designed 3 Logo which reflect your favourite brand- you should have a favourite
that you will use in todays task.
In todays task you will create a poster for your chosen brand that will incorporate your new
logo. You should consider on what platform (social media or billboard) this poster would be
seen and remember your target audience. How are you going to make this brand exciting and
ultimately increase sales?
MUST: Your task is to create 1 Advertisements for your selected brand, which is suitable for your
target audience and consider the platform that this will used on- would it be interactive? Would
their be animation?. You could either use paper or the computer to produce a poster. You
should ensure your poster includes; a slogan, logo, product/service and colour.
