visit several places including Yokosuka Port Market, Kurihama Shopping Street, Kannonzaki Nature Museum, the Uraga area and more. Get on and off at any Circle Bus stop. It departs Yokosuka Port Market every hour starting at 10 a.m. English speaking staff are also available on the bus. The bus will run even in the rain and any cancellations will be posted on the Yokosuka Circle Bus Facebook page. Seating is limited so reservations are recommended in advance. U.S. Navy volunteers and members of the local Japanese community will carry their mikoshi floats from Yokosuka Chuo Street (Blue Street) to the base. The parade through the base starts at 11:20 a.m. at Clement Blvd. There will be food booths and entertainment also on base. Visitors to the base may be asked to present IDs. Non-Japanese Nationals must present a passport or resident card. In case of heavy rain event will be canceled.

Parking and Road Closures
MATH AND READING ASSISTANTS NEEDED
The Sullivans Elementary School is seeking math and reading assistants tosupport teachers during
Commissary Parking Lot:The commissary parking lot will experience phased closures until Dec. 9 for repaving and repainting.
Main Gate Area: Partial road closure of egress lanes from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Oct. 31 to replace water pipes.
Closures by Yokosuka Mini-Mart:NEX Autoport parking lot closure in phases from Oct. 16 to Dec. 1.
COMMENT: Who is the POC for fundraising rules on base? Specifically who do I talk to if my command wants to do a fundraiser by Club Alliance on a Saturday evening selling food to Sailors coming on or off base? I see other commands and organizations selling hot dogs, hot chocolate, and so on?
RESPONSE: Thank you for your question. The Point of Contact for
fundraising rules on Fleet Activities Yokosuka is CFAY’s Legal Office and they are the approving authority for fundraising on the base. For fundraising questions call 243-7335. You can find the fundraising request paperwork on the CFAY webpage at: https://www.cnic.navy.mil/regions/cnrj/installations/cfa_yokosuka/about/departments/CFAY_Legal.html. There, you will find a fillable form to request your event. Once
you complete the paperwork package, please return them to the CFAY Legal Office. They are in Building located in Building C-31 next to the HR building on Command Hill.If your command is requesting to hold their fundraiser at a specific location (ie. Outside Club Alliance) you will need to get permission in writing from the command or department that is responsible for the location you wish to host your fundraiser and include that
with your request package.Fundraiser requests should be submitted no earlier than one month and no later than two weeks prior to the date of the proposed fundraiser. Depending on the complexity of the request, it may take a substantial amount of time to complete the review and arrive at an approval or disapproval decision. Please plan accordingly.
KILL-A-WATT CHALLENGE
It’s Energy Action Month. FLEACT Yokosuka commands are encouraged to participate in this year’s Kill-A-Watt challenge event on Oct. 17. Public Works Energy/utility teams will be monitoring energy usage. Contact PWD at 243-5049 to learn how your command can participate in Energy Action Month.
