FUN ACTIVITIES FOR SUMMER VACATION 2019-20

Dear Parents, Vacation time is full of fun and enjoyment, but it is also the time to inculcate in your child the habit of responsibility. It is important for teachers as well as parents to help the children stay in touch with the daily habit of assimilating knowledge. It is for this purpose holidays home work is planned for the students which will give them joyful learning during the vacations.

A note for parents

Make this summer special! Have at least two meals together with yourchildren.

Let them wash their own plate after every meal. Give them the task to wash and fill the water bottles everyday.

Let them fold their clothes and keep them neatly in their cupboards. Visit the grandparents and let your children bond with them. Their love and

emotional support is very important for the child. General Instructions Holidays Home work is to be done on A-4 sheets arranged in creative separate folders made out of reused/recycled paper. Parents should only guide children to do the Holidays Home Work.

Book Review I. Reading is crucial to everyones success. It is one of the most fundamental skills a child should acquire. It helps not only to enhance their vocabulary but also to acquire values which indeed equip them to live a meaningful life. Enjoy reading any one book of the following authors: Roald Dahl * Enid Blyton * Lewis Carroll * Mark Twain Make a book Report of the book you read . It should include the following :

a) Book Cover (Draw an important scene ) b) Title of the book c) Name of the author d) Your favourite character from the story and the reason why do you like him/her. Or

The reason why you liked the book. Use your creativity to prepare a colourful book report using A4 coloured sheets II. Dictionary skill Pick up a dictionary look for words starting with the first 2 letters of your name. Choose 5 words and write their meaning. Use your imagination and create a picturesque representation of words through illustrations (draw /paste pictures ) on A4 sheet. III. 1. Going down the memory lane and experiencing your childhood again will also be a great and enriching experience. Discuss with your parents and grandparents about your childhood and see that smile on their face! Write in about 100 words how were you as a child and some memorable moments from your childhood.

OR Write an interesting limerick on the topic of your interest. 2. Complete cursive writing book till page 35. Use a sharpened pencil and follow the formation as taught in the class. 3. Revise your syllabus uploaded on Entab and complete your worksheets.

1.Use different geometrical shapes to make 2 different patterns. Use A-4 sheet to display the patterns.

a)Roll no. 1 to 15 - Addition wheel ( use two or three 5-digit numbers) b) Roll no. 16 to 30 - Subtraction wheel ( use 5-digit numbers) c) Roll no 31 onwards - Multiplication wheel ( use 2 digit no. by 2-digit no.multiplication or 2-digit no. by 3-digit no. multiplication )

Also make the answer sticks. Refer the given picture. 3. Cook a dish of your choice this summer .Collect the items required to prepare the dish. Make a note of the following.

Total money you took for purchasing.

Total money spent on purchasing.

Balance money

Prepare a bill for your purchasing.

Also take the feedback from your parents about the dish prepared.
