Present Status- Structures condition is good and minor preservation works are out by Lahore Conservation Society. PrecinctB : Ram Bagh Palace, Gardens and Rambagh Deori, 1818 (Area: 84 Acres) It is the Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The garden is built on the model of famous Shalimar Gardens of Lahore. Present Status - ASI listed monument of national importance. Restoration work is under progress. The 100m prohibited zone regulation has led to relocation of three clubs (Service Club, Amritsar Club, Lumsden Club) along with slums encroaching the gardens. PrecinctC : Gobindgarh Fort, 1760 (Area: 1500Acres) Known as Bhangian da Qila, it was rebuilt in 1805 as a treasury by Mahraja Ranjit Singh. Present Status- ASI listed monument of State. Earlier it was under the Indian army but now has been handed over to State Tourism Department for converting it into a heritage hotel. . Preservation work is under progress. PrecinctD : Durgiana Mandir, Sarovar, Sita Temple, HanumanTemple, 1908 (Area: 25 Acres) Constructed similar to Golden Temple and is a major Hindu attraction place in Punjab. Present Status - Looked after by Durgiana Temple Committee and is in a good condition Outside the precinct the main issues are; slums located around it, Traffic Congestion, inadequate parking and waste management. Precinct E - Walled City and Gates Built during 1866-1868 by Maharaja Ranjit Singh built Present Status It has12 gates of which 6 have been demolished. 300 Monuments Listed by INTACH within the walled City 32 Monuments Listed by Municipal Corporation Amritsar. Entire Walled City has been nominated for UNESCO listing. There are several Precincts within the walled city: i) Golden Temple, Amrit Sarovar, Bungas and Galiara, 1604 ii) Other important Gurudwaras along with their historic water tanks. Eg. Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai-1778 Gurudwara Bibeksar-1628 Gurudwara Shahidan Gurudwara Guru ka Mahal iii) Each Katra is a Historic Precinct in itself as this have a history associated, were set up by Sikh Chiefs and were originally walled community. Eg. Katra Dulo Still residential structures have not been modified. Precinct -E (i) : Golden Temple, Amrit Sarovar, Bungas and Galiara, 1604 Highest seat of the Sikh religion. Approx 1 lakh people visit the temple every day. Almost 4-5 lakh people visit Golden Temple on Baisakhi, Diwali and Guru Nanak Jayanti. Located in the centre of the walled it and looked after by SGPC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee). The temple and temple complex is in a good condition and the frescos present inside are being restored by Dronah.
