IVANS Transfer Manager .NETOverview

Important These instructions are only for AMS 360 In-house agencies running version 2.1 (or greater). Transfer Manager.NET must be installed before running download.

Transfer Manager .NET provides you with the ability to pick up all of your download transactions (policy and accounting) via the internet. This method has a number of benefits including the following:

• No need for a dedicated phone line or modem specifically for download.

• Pick up download files for all your carriers using this technology, except those that use a proprietary means (Company Direct) for transmitting data.

• The Transfer Manager .NET software and documentation is available on the AMS Support FOCUS website.

The following table contains notes relating to the possible installation scenarios for Transfer Manager.NET and AMS 360 v2.1 or greater.

The following documentation lists the requirements for using this technology, installing the software, and the process for download.

RequirementsTransfer Manager .NET uses Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 or 2.0, and is subject to the minimum requirements as specified under the Redistributable section at the following URL:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/updates/default.aspx

Note The Transfer Manager. NET installation determines if the server needs the Microsoft .NET Framework and will install it automatically if needed.

Existing AMS 360 V2.0 Customers

New AMS 360 V2.1 Customers

Migrating AfW 5.3 to AMS 360 V2.1

Customers• Do not uninstall any older

versions of Transfer Manager you may be running on your AMS 360 IIS Server. The installation process detects configurations from your prior version and migrates them to the new version, saving you additional steps. After installation is complete you will be advised to uninstall the prior version.

• Any dial-up modem currently installed on your AMS 360 IIS Server will no longer be needed.

• Download transactions in AMS 360 are handled by the AMS 360 IIS Server, not via a workstation. It is important that all workstations you currently use to connect to the IVANS Network have their download schedules disabled.

HardwareThe following minimum hardware is required at the IIS Server where you will use Transfer Manager .NET:

Note Workstation installation of Transfer Manager .NET is not supported.

Microsoft Windows based web server (Windows Server 2000 or greater) running Microsoft IIS Server. (Windows Server 2003 is highly recommended)

This server is used to run the web based portions of AMS 360 and must be separate from the database server. The IIS server will be used exclusively by AMS 360 and can not house other software.

It is highly recommended that this server have 1GB or more memory.

1GHz or greater processor required.

2X or higher CD ROM

SVGA (800x600) display with 256 colors (16 Bit High Color recommended)

OtherA Broadband (DSL or Cable) internet connection in your office.

Transfer Manager .NET requires the TCP/IP protocol be properly configured in Windows.

Transfer Manager .NET uses passive FTP protocol for interacting with IE over a private connection. The HTTP/S protocol is used for interacting with IE via the Internet, and also for interacting with ECS. Therefore, the standard FTP control port (port 21) and the standard HTTP/S port (port 443) should be properly configured in any firewall devices.

Installing Transfer Manager .NET on the IIS Server

Installation Time 20-30 minutes.

• AMS 360 v2.1 must first be installed on the AMS 360 Database Server and AMS 360 IIS Server.

• Transfer Manager.Net can then be installed on the AMS 360 IIS Server. (Installation requires a restart upon completion).

So, whether this is a new or upgraded installation, complete the steps in the next section, “Update Mailbox”.
