AN ANALYSIS OF THE PROBLEMS IN IMPLEMENTING
LESSON PLAN FACED BY THE ENGLISH TEACHER
OF GRADE XI SCIENCE CLASS AT
MUHAMMADIYAH SENIOR HIGH
SCHOOL 1 MALANG
ABSTRACT
This present research was conducted in Muhammadiyah Senior High school 1
Malang. This research was written to find out the problems of teacher in
implementing the lesson plan.
This research used a qualitative design. Hence, there are three kinds of data
collection techniques in this study. The techniques of data collection are: 1)
observation was carried out in XI science class I and XI science class II; 2) interview
was conducted in library with the teacher and four students; 3) documents were
collected, such as lesson plan, syllabus, and student’s worksheet.
Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that there are two kinds
of problems in implementing lesson plan : problems from teacher’s perspective and
problems from students’ perspective. The problems from teacher are noisy situation,
time availability, class environment, and standard material. Meanwhile, the problems
from students are students interest, academic and educational level background,
students’ behaviors in the class, and learning styles.
This study is expected to give suggestion to school’s principal, staff,
especially for the teacher in prospective implementing of the lesson plan, and the
further researcher at Muhammadiyah Senior High school 1 Malang.
