GRA 4800 - 2498
This semester Geraldine Aybar, production manager, and Carlos Estremera, designer, were partnered up for the mid-term project. The tesk is to help spread awareness through promotional media for an upcoming catering company named An Artistic Taste (AAT). Aybar, as production man-ager, will gather all the information needed to create the projects. She will also create a schedule and deadline that these projects would have to meet. Estremera will be cre-ating a menu and website for AAT and he will also design the logo needed for the chef jackets. The menu is created based on the seasons, so every year there will be 4 dif-ferent menus made. The chef jackets will only be made once unless more people get hired after we’ve made our orders. And the website will developed using a Content Management System and will be mobile compatible. All projects must be done by November 1st in order to start before the Winter season.

Conclusion
When I found out I was going to be the production manager of the project I was excited. For the past year NYCCT has been training me to be a production manager. I thought this assignment was going to be easy but I was wrong. Projects are harder when more people are involved. There are disagreements and agreements, negatives and positives. When you work alone you do everything your way and don’t have to consul with anyone. But if you work alone you will never realize what you’re doing wrong unless you have someone else’s opinion. When it comes to working with someone else there needs to be a lot of communication, patience, understanding and responsibility. If you don’t do your part your partner cant do his/her neither. But I can’t complain about my designer, he knew what he was doing and did everything on his part. For me the hardest part was being the production manager for the website. I never had to do an RFP or schedule for anything done electronically. I don’t even know what it takes to create a website. This project made me look into web design and look further than just print. The more you know the better it is for you in the future.
Working on a production task is extremely challenging. Neverthe-less, working within an actual production management workflow in the real world. Time is everything. Time is essential. Balancing per-sonal time, work time and the time I dedicate towards other en-gagements around this project was extremely challenging. I am more interested in the area of design, however I want to be able to dominate all areas of production to guarantee that I am able to reproduce my work while maintaining quality. Working with Geral-dine did facilitate the whole process. She’s a pusher and a stickler but extremely helpful and insightful and I enjoyed working with her.
