Pilot Trial in Potidaia Chalkidikis

Pilot Trial Results

• The fertilization advice was implemented successfully• We identified the possibility to reduce the use of pesticides• We realized that the irrigation was excessive with a number

of negative results• High costs• High water consumption with the respective

environmental effects• Loss of nutrients• Creation of conditions appropriate for the

manifestation of verticillium, leading to a reduction of production quantity and quality

• Coverage of a total of 5 large scale areas in the region and 6 significant crops:• Chalkidiki: Olives• Pieria: Grapes (edible), Kiwi, Cherries• Episkopi: Cotton• Krya Vrysi: Grapes (edible)• Veria: Peach (processed)

• Collaboration with partners working with proximity sensing.• Collaboration with scientific partners to create the models

for the new crops.
