This booklet provides details of the Clubs and Activities from which you should choose up to three for this term. In making your choices remember that the following extra curricular activities take priority: Sports Teams, School Productions and Academic Classes. Make a note of your prior commitments before making your choice of clubs or activities. Full details of sports practices are included at the end of this booklet. When making your choices, do look at the times at which the clubs are offered and ensure that you are available. Please note that there are some clubs which do incur a fee because they are run by outside organisations. It is important to note that you are expected to make a commitment for the whole term. Not arriving for a club affects the whole group. If it is unavoidable, please do let the teacher who is running the activity know that you will not be attending, as a register will be taken at all clubs and activities. If you have any suggestions for new clubs, or know people who might like to help us run new clubs, please let us know. You need to fill out a form for each activity and return this to the office or your form tutor as soon as possible. This is particularly important for activities with limited space or those run by outside organisations.

Yoganory P1, P2 and J3 There is a charge for this course and a separate registration from is provided by Hayley Chalwin. Thursday 3.45pm to 4.30pm in Reception.

Junior Art Club Gives the girls an opportunity to use different materials or to develop ideas and themes outside of formal lessons. J3 & J4 Monday 1.00pm to 1.25pm. J5 & J6 Tuesday 1.00pm to 1.25pm. Mrs Parsons in Art Room. Starting second week of term.

Mini Bridge Club J5 to J6 Friday 3.45pm to 4.30pm with Mrs Robertson and Mrs McMillan in J5M. Commencing 22nd April. Playing cards will be supplied.

Junior Lexia Club All Juniors up to 10 girls, so first come first served! Wednesday 3.40pm to 4.30pm with Mrs Davies in the Junior Computer Suite. Starting 20th April.

J6 Maths Club By invitation with Mrs Redward on Monday 1.00pm to 1.25pm starting 18th April.

Ballet Club Reception, P1 & P2 Run by ‘Regal Ballet’ on Wednesday 3.45pm to 4.30pm in Reception. There is a cost for these lessons and parents will receive a letter about how to pay and book. There will be a trial lesson on 13th April, for any girls who may be interested.

Junior Sewing Club Open to all Juniors Monday 3.45pm to 4.30pm in Mrs Redward’s room with Miss Axton. Starting Monday 18th April.

Puzzle Challenge Club Open to all Juniors! Have a go at different puzzles, games and challenges aimed to develop logical thinking and problem solving skills. With Mrs Wilson in J3D on Thursday 3.45pm to 4.30pm. Commencing 21st April.

MFL Junior Club J5 & J6 By invitation only. Friday 1.00pm to 1.25pm in Room 4 with Mrs Diprose, starting 15th April.

Latin & Ballroom Dancing Lessons All Juniors welcome! There is a charge for these classes and a separate letter will be sent home. However please complete the form at the end of this booklet so that we can get an idea of numbers. First come first served! Monday in Arcot 4pm to 5pm starting 25th April.

Wind Ensembles Juniors and Seniors welcome with Grade 3 or above. Training Ensemble, Wednesday 8.15am to 8.45am. Senior Ensemble, Wednesday 8.45am to 9.15am. In Meadow Cottage with Mrs Millar. Please register your interest with Mrs Millar or Miss Ward.

Vocal Group Juniors J4 - S7 Tuesday 10.15am in Meadow Cottage. By invitation but please register your interest with Miss Smith or Miss Ward.

Senior Choir Auditions will run for Senior Choir - please speak to Miss Ward. Girls need to sing a piece of their choice unaccompanied to Miss Ward with musicality and confidence. The choir sing in 2 and sometimes 3 parts. The repertoire is mixed but leans more towards popular music. Tuesday and Thursday 10.20am to 10.45am in

Vocal Group Seniors Thursday 1.30pm Meadow Cottage. By invitation but please register your interest with Miss Smith or Miss Ward.

Parents Choir All Welcome! Thursday 8.00am to 8.30am with Miss Ward in the Music Room.

GCSE Art Club Art support for S10 and S11 GCSE girls. Monday 4.15pm to 5.15pm Mrs Williams Art Room.

Staff Choir All Welcome! Wednesday at short break in Arcot with Miss Ward.

Junior Production Band Seniors by Invitation. Girls should let Miss Ward know if they are interested in being part of the band for the Junior Production. Miss Ward will then invite instrumentalists to be part of the band.

Senior Drama Club This club will start once the Drama GCSE is over. Date to be advised.

Religious Studies GCSE Revision and Study Support Monday, Wednesday and Thursday long break with Mrs Homewood in Room 8 (RS).

Debate Club S9 & S10 Lively arguments on a range of topics up for debate! Monday at long break with Mrs Mayes starting 18th April, in Goldsby.

Crest Awards S8 & S9 CREST is a project-based national award scheme where students can individually or in groups design and carry out an investigation of their choosing. It is an opportunity for students to research further into an area of passion or find the answer to something they have always wondered about! Run by the Science Department, please see Mrs Brodie for day and time.

Senior Science Drop-in Tuesday 1.30pm to 2.00pm Need help with your homework? Would you like to go over a topic from class? Do you need to check your understanding of something covered in lessons? Use this time to speak to Mrs Evans or Mrs Brodie about it. No need to book an appoint-ment, just turn up to the correct lab during this time and get some support. First come first served.

Senior Cookery Club No Cookery Club this term but it will resume in the Autumn Term.

Classics Clinic Mainly for S10 & S11 (but girls in S7 to S9 are particularly welcome too in the run up to the Summer examinations and beyond). Girls are welcome to drop in and spend time to work through things they have found tricky, or just general revision of key topics or grammar. Monday 1.30pm to 2.00pm starting 18th April in Spanish Room (4) with Mrs Stephens.

GCSE History Revision Club This club is for you if you would like help with an aspect of GCSE History, practise your exam technique, get some ideas for revision or watch GCSE related videos. Monday 1.30pm to 2.00pm and Tuesday 1.30pm to 2.00pm. Ms St Johnston in History Room.

Senior Art Club Seniors will need to apply to Mrs Parsons who will post a list of girls who can attend for the current term. Wednesday 4.15pm to 5.15pm In Art Room.

Maths with Mr Pelham in the Maths Room: Drop-in for S10 & S11 Monday 1.35pm to 2.00pm Clinic for S11 Let Mr Pelham know a topic in advance or just come along. Monday 4.10pm to 4.50pm Workshop for S11 Some students specifically invited but any S11 welcome! Wednesday 1.35pm to 2.00pm.

Fun with Languages! French, German, Spanish & More….. Drop in for help with homework or to do extra tasks; for fun activities such as songs, games and films; to keep up a Language you are not studying in class! 1.30pm in Room 6 (Language Lab) on Tuesday with Mrs Peel.

MFL Shop Wednesday short break. Remember to bring your exercise book with you to show your stickers! Room 5 with Mrs Peel.

MFL LOVE FILM French, German or Spanish films with English subtitles or some of your favourite English musicals with foreign subtitles. Watch out for the adverts when you come to Languages to see what is coming up and collect a letter if it is a film for your year group that you would like to see. On the day bring your onesie and a bowl for your popcorn! See Mrs Diprose for details. After school from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.

S11 Spanish Club Monday 1.30pm to 2.00pm and Tuesday 8.45am to 9.10am. Room 6 with Mrs Wright commencing second week of term.

Extra Music Lessons Pre-Prep, Junior & Senior

Extra instrumental lessons are taken by visiting, peripatetic, music teachers during the school day. Fees for these lessons are dealt with by the independent visiting teachers who will bill you directly and supply you with their individual terms and conditions. Your daughter should receive thirty lessons per annum and whilst every effort will be made to re-schedule any lesson missed by your daughter, this is not always possible. Please give notice to the visiting teacher when your daughter takes part in any school trips or activities that will take her out of her scheduled lesson. Lessons are usually organised on a rotation basis, however, girls in S11, S10 and girls who learn more than one instrument are given a fixed time, wherever possible. Please note that your daughter will therefore miss a curriculum lesson and work will need to be caught up. A full term’s notice is required when stopping lessons or one term’s fees will be charged in lieu of notice. Advice on the hiring and buying of instruments can be given by the visiting teachers and is advisable for the best deals. Any girl taking piano lessons must have a piano at home; keyboards are not suitable. However we do have a Keyboard specialist who can teach keyboard repertoire. Please do not hesitate to contact the Director of Music, Miss Jessica Ward, if you have any queries. Tuition is offered in the instruments on the following page (12).
