What is a Project?
A temporary organisation with a structure to manage it
Predefined outcome Predefined timescales Predefined resources
What does a Project Manager do?
Runs the project on a day to day basis
Responsible for ensuring the project delivers what it said it would on time and in budget
How do they do this?
Plan the project Monitor progress Manage risks and
issues as they are identified
Produce reports Direct and
motivate the project team
What is your project idea?
What makes a project work well?

Can you put them into an order of importance?

Activities and Dependencies

Think of all the things you need to have in place (what foods, drinks, the venue, any equipment, people)
Break each thing down into it’s component parts
Put them into a flow diagram and put them into groups as you go
Are there any things you need that you are reliant on being supplied by an external party – if so, highlight these somehow (e.g. different post it)
