ACCI constructs three PassengerWaiting Sheds at Havelock Jetty

Consequent on the

extension of the existing

Jetty at Havelock, the

necessity of shelter to the

visiting tourists/

passengers was felt as

there was no shelter for the

visiting tourists/

passengers to save

themselves from rain & sun

at the Jetty. On the request

of the Port Management

Board, the Andaman

Chamber of Commerce &

Industry took the initiative

to construct 3 passenger

shelter/waiting sheds at

Havelock at a total cost of

Rs.40 lakhs and handed

them over to the Port

Management Board after

construction.

These waiting sheds were

constructed by the

There is a long pending demand of residents of Baratang for opening of Petrol outlet

by ANIIDCO at Baratang and the PRI members of Baratang had also taken up the

matter with Lt. Governor, A&N Islands. The A&N Administration and ANIIDCO have

decided to set up Petroleum Retail Outlets of IOCL at Baratang as well as Kadamtala.

The A&N Administration has recently allotted land to ANIIDCO at Baratang for the

said purpose. Further, the available land with ANIIDCO at Uttara village shall be

used for setting of a Petroleum Retail outlet at Kadamtala.

Keeping in view the convenience of the commuters, both the Petroleum Retail Outlets

Sites falling on National Highways, will be developed with a Petrol Pump and Wayside

Amenities like toilets, chilled drinking water, free air filling, refreshment corner, ATM,

first aid and parking facility etc.

ANIIDCO has already taken up the matter for award of Retail outlet dealership with

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and it is expected that the project will be

completed within the Calendar Year 2019, a communication from the Managing

Director, ANIIDCO said.

Ophthafest being organized

by Island Ophthafest Port

Blair with the support of

Rohin's Eye Hospital.

Addressing the delegates,

the chief guest informed

that the Andaman group of

Islands have better medical

facilities for providing

ophthalmology services to

the people in comparison to

the southern group of

Islands. Acknowledging the

fact that the

ophthalmologists in the

Isles are working with

limited resources and

facilities, the Principal

Secretary said, it would be

a welcome initiative if such

services and facilities are

extended to the people of

those Islands as well by

such visiting

Ophthalmologists. He also

lauded Dr. Rohindra Lall's

efforts in organizing the

programme which aims at

benefiting the participating

delegates as well as the

Islanders.

Anup Kumar, one of the most

impactful kabaddi players the

country has seen, on

Wednesday announced his

retirement with immediate effect,

drawing curtains to an

illustrious 15-year career.

A veteran in the sport, Arjuna

awardee Anup began his

international career in 2006 at

the South Asian Games in Sri

Lanka. He led India to gold

medal at the Asian Games and

was also part of the team which

repeated the feat in the 2014

edition. The 35-year-old had

also led India to memorable

Kabaddi World Cup title triumph

in 2016. In season 2 of the Pro

started playing kabaddi, it was

a great hobby and over the

the inter island vessel MV Sentinel to Car Nicobar on

Car Nicobar, on account of forthcoming VVIP visit to

Service of MV Mus resumes

after technical snagPort Blair, Dec.20

Due to cropping up of sudden technical snag on board

vehicle ferry vessel, MV Mus operating between Middle

Strait and Baratang, on the morning of 20th Dec. 2018,

the services of the vehicle ferry vessel has been

withdrawn. The sudden withdrawal of MV Mus has lead

to disruption of vehicle ferry service in the above sector.

The above disruption of service was however for a brief

period and with dedicated efforts by the Directorate of

Shipping Services, the vehicle ferry vessel MV Mus was

brought back to service in the late afternoon hours and

the situation become normalized, a communication from

the Deputy Director (SS) said.

Should have required space either at his own residence / shop / market or at any rented building for installation of the deep freezer. iv. In the case of rented building, no objection from the landlord for installation of the deep freezer and marketing of fish to be furnished.

2. Supply of insulated ice boxes on 50% subsidy to fishers.

i. Should be a licensed fisher holding registered traditional/ motorized / mechanized fishing vessel and possessing valid fishing license at least for the last 01 (one) year apart from the current year.

or Registered Fisheries Cooperative Society / Federation/ Self Help Group engaged in fishing activity.

or Registered Fisheries Cooperative Society / Federation/ Self Help Group/ Fish Vendors engaged in retail marketing of fish.

ii. Should not have availed assistance for similar purpose in the past five years from any Govt. agencies. iii. The selected beneficiary should procure the insulated ice boxes of the capacity approved by the department from

the authorized supplier having after sales facility in the islands within two months from the date of sanction of subsidy.

3. Purchase of freshwater fish harvesting net on 50% subsidy.

i. The applicant should be holding a clear title of the land on which the pond is located (copy of land record alongwith a certificate of ownership from the Revenue Department to be furnished). ii. If the land is on lease, the lease deed shall be for a minimum of 5 years from the date of sanction of subsidy (Copy of lease deed to be furnished).

iii. The pond should be in use for stocking of fresh water fish/ prawn at least for last 01 year including current year. The subsidy shall be available only for fresh purchases.

4. Construction of Nursery ponds and breeding materials for freshwater fish seed production on 50% subsidy.

i. Farmers/ individuals from A&N Islands. ii. The applicant should be holding a clear title of the land on which the nursery pond is proposed to be constructed (copy of land record alongwith a certificate of ownership from the Revenue Department to be furnished). iii. If the land is on lease, the lease deed shall be for a minimum of 5 years from the date of sanction of subsidy (Copy of lease deed to be furnished).

The subsidy assistance would be extended for construction of upto 02 (two) nursery ponds and purchase of upto 02 (two) set of breeding materials.

5. purchase of pellet feed to pisciculturists on 50% subsidy.

i. Farmers/ individuals from A&N Islands. ii. The applicant should be holding a clear title of the land on which the nursery pond is proposed to be constructed (copy of land record alongwith a certificate of ownership from the Revenue Department to be furnished). iii. If the land is on lease, the lease deed shall be for a minimum of 5 years from the date of sanction of subsidy (Copy of lease deed to be furnished).

6. Purchase of moped for selling of fish on 50% subsidy.

i. Should be a licensed fisherman / fish vendor. ii. Should not have availed assistance for similar purpose in the past five years from any Govt. agencies.

7. Setting up of portable FRP Hatchery for Indian Major carps and other freshwater species on 50% subsidy.

i.Should have a nursery pond area of 1000 Sqm and brooder stock pond area of 1000 Sqm with sufficient experience in fish farming.

ii.Should be holding a clear title of the land on which the pond is located (copy of land record alongwith a certificate of ownership from the Revenue Department to be furnished).

iii.If the land is on lease, the lease deed shall be for a minimum of 05 years from the date of sanction of subsidy (Copy of lease deed to be furnished).

iv.The pond should be in use for stocking of fresh water fish/ prawn atleast for last 01 year including current year.

issued by its branches apply in writing to this UT Administration seeking

permission for consolidation of duties under the Act payable on the basis of any expected quarterly consumption of Policy Stamps by the branches in the

UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands based on past quarterly consumption. Full details shall be furnished by the branch office after compilation of such information branch-wise to the UT Administration. If the actual consumption

in any quarter is more than the deposited amount, then the balance amount will be paid forthwith strictly within ten days from the commencement of the

next quarter. In other cases, the balance amount will be carried forward to the

next quarter. On receipt of such application, the UT Administration may permit such

Branch Office of the Life Insurance Corporation to credit the consolidated amount of duty payable quarterly to the Reserve Bank of India or any agency

bank of the State Bank of India under the Head of Account “0030-Stamp &

Registration, 01-Stamp-Judicial, 02- Stamp Non- Judicial, 102- Sale of Stamps” and direct to submit the receipted Challan in original showing the

quarterly deposit. After credit of such amount of quarterly payable duty to the

UT Administration account under the above Head, the UT Administration

shall issue an order that the said Branch Office of the Life Insurance Corporation has been permitted to pay the consolidated Duty payable quarterly, thereon on the basis of the expected quarterly consumption of

policies by its branches in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Under Clause (b) of Sub-Section (1) of Section 9 of the Act. Upon issue such order the said Branch Office of the Life Insurance Corporation may issue such insurance

policies by printing thereon the words “Consolidated Stamp Duty on Insurance Policies Nos. ........................................... to …….............. paid vide

Gazette.
