Christmas lights bring a glimmer & joy to our campus each year at this time, thanks to the gra-cious donation from Jack Burkett. He does this in fond memory of his mother and past resident Martha Burkett and her love of Christmas Lights. Thank you Jack for letting Manor Park be part of this fond memory.
Memories of Mom
shared by Jack Burkett Martha Burkett, Christmas 2004 in the kitchen of her home at 202 Abell Hanger Circle. If there were anything more than Christmas lights that she enjoyed more it was cooking for her family and friends. I can remember at home as a child she would make a home-made bread once a week and how delicious it was. And then, later in life when dad was chairman of Group 4 of the Ohio Bankers Association she would entertain the group’s bankers and their wives in their large home. She would start preparing weeks in advance, planning the menu and getting out the good silverware and start polishing it, and by some miracle it would all come together on time and the guests were in awe. One time my brother requested a green birthday cake for his birthday and she pro-duced one, even with green frosting! Later my brother confessed that he want-ed a green cake because he thought no one else would eat it and he would have the whole cake for himself. Oh was he fooled...and he was born on April Fools Day.

Chaplains Chat...
Our very own, ever present Chaplain is out on Medical Leave until the end of Nov.
first of Dec. He is recovering from gallbladder surgery and is healing well. Bill appreciates
all the prayers and kind words of healing sent his way. This circumstance reminds me how
fortunate Manor Park residents and staff are to have someone who is there when wanted, when needed, even absently in
thought & prayer. We look forward to his return.
Have a peaceful Christmas Season
filled with love.
If I can help you in any way, as Chaplain, please call me (699-3404), leave a note on or under my office door or send me a message by
email to [email protected]

time of year. Call us at (432)699-3411 or pass by the Wellness Center to get started with an exercise routine.
