WHEN ANA LUCIA COMES TO VISIT

• Nothing stays the same.

• She weaves her magic on all she

sees• all fall under the

mighty princess’ reign.

When Ana Lucia comes to visit• My sons are

born anew

• My eldest boy becomes a

sweet tempered giant.

Page 6: Ana

Raising her higher than the clouds

•Tossing her into the

rushing wind•and catching

in his hands, so huge

Page 7: Ana

He is a mountain for her to climb

• His legs are two tall oaks for her to

hide• His back a chariot

for her to ride• His arms a cradle

for her to sleep.

When Ana Lucia comes to visit

• My youngest son is transformed,

• he is her knight, in armor dressed.

• He fights dragons for her, ones that

bark & yelp instead of fire

blow,

Page 9: Ana

He wins ten thousand battles for her

• and saves the lady in distress.

• She waits for him and watches him

and plays with him all day

• He makes up stories for her even though that’s not his way.

When Ana Lucia comes to visit

Max is not ignored,• as if the subject of a wizard’s spell

• He becomes her willing servant, waiting at her feet, for the

tiniest morsel she lets him eat

Page 11: Ana

And then he changes

• to the sweetest prince her arms around his neck,

she gives him hundreds of

kisses as he licks her on the face,

Page 12: Ana

Then as evening comes

• and the sunlight fades

• he becomes the softest pillow in

the world

Page 13: Ana

When Ana Lucia comes to visit

• by her magic we are changed

• and through her eyes

• we see the wonder of the world, a world

she’s rearranged
