Analysis of existing magazine titles CLASH CLASH is an interesting title for a music magazine as it resembles the music band The Clash, which were a Punk-rock band from the 1970s and 1980s. The magazine still represents this style of music, along with Alternative and Indie genres. The title is fitting to all these genres but is still appealing to audiences who don’t particularly see themselves as a Punk- rock fan. The title is engaging and leaves the audience wanting to know more and what the magazine will be about. This is because the genres the magazine focus on aren’t clear from the name, this may help to gain a larger audience. Alternatively, the magazine was first issued in 2004, which means the fashion and music magazine doesn’t have a well-known or respected brand. NME NME is a music magazine which was founded in the 1950s as a British music journalism magazine. The title is an example initialism as NME stand for New Musical Express. However, the reader doesn’t see a genre of music from the magazine title, so will be interested to read the magazine or to look at it further. The initials appear professional and retro, as the magazine has been around for over 60 years so it has become a well-known and respected brand of music magazine.
