In today's lesson we will annotate different front covers of music magazines.

Buzzwords: This shows the reader they are getting more for their money.

Title is bold and bigger than all the other writing and therefore stands out more than any of the other writing, this is one of the first things you will look at.

Bar code is always situated to the bottom left of the magazine with the issue number and the date of the magazine.

Main image, this is the central image, this is one of the first things the reader will look at. Most magazines have direct address but in this picture the eyes are covered and therefore do not create a sense of how the picture is dragging the reader in.

Relevant images used that shows the reader articles inside the magazine.

Quotes from the inside stories show the reader some sense of the stories inside.Shows what type of magazine

it is.

Taglines: Give a brief explanation of the story.

Title is bold, but not centralised..this makes it not look as important and its just pushed to one side.

Main image, shows direct address, this makes the reader think that the image is looking at them.

The bar code is normally situated at the bottom of the page, mainly on the left hand side, this can vary though.

This shows the reader that they are getting more for their money. Main story is in

bold, it reflects from the image, this does not cover the main image.

Stories from the magazine are included on the front cover to give the reader a feel for what’s in the magazine.

Issue number and date are normally here.

By using boxes this separates stories.

Main title is bold and stands out from all the other writing, this could be because its white and the other large writing on the page is a different colour.

Main image dominates the page, this is the first thing the reader will look at, it is also showing direct address as the person on the image is trying to look into the readers eyes.

Issue number and date is normally situated at the top.

Price is normally below the title.

Main story stands out from all the other stories, this also links with the main picture.
