Analysis of Three Music Magazine Contents Pages

This contents page for ‘Q’ magazine is very full and makes good use of every part of the page. It draws attention to particular parts of the page by the images used that are then featured within the magazine. The colours used are very simplistic so it is easy to use. I like the way the colours are used in the text also with the way the title of each page is highlighted in red. Overall, the page looks very well done and is not something you would find in a cheap magazine. It has a very professional feel to it, which may have something to do with the way the people in the photographs are portrayed.

The contents page of this magazine is very action packed with a lot of bright colourful images drawing the consumers eye right in. having the page numbers big and bold next to the images is also effective in terms of making the reader want to go and find that page and read it. The font used is quite bold which complements the images well. I like the way the images look as if they are just pasted on at angles with no care which looks very stylish and pleasing to the eye. This contents page really does show as much of the actual contents of the magazine as possible making sure that it draws its readers in.

This music magazine contents page is very well thought of with an organised look to it making it easy no navigate where you need to look. This is a quality I want my music magazine contents page to have. I think the use of the contrasting, bright colours looks brilliant as it really makes it stand out and make the reader want to find out what is inside. It also has an offer right at the top to draw people in. The main image has been edited in Photoshop very well using curves and colour correction to give a ‘burnt out’ effect on the highlighted parts of his face making it look both dramatic and interesting.
