analysis of two magazines
DESCRIPTION
Here is my analysis of two different magazinesTRANSCRIPT
Masthead – here the masthead recognisable although the cover model covers most of it suggesting that this magazine is well known and has credibility
Anchorage here – following the usual codes and conventions of magazines – this being the biggest story on the page
Cover model – well known face – people are interested in her music, she has eye contact with the camera therefore with the audience making it more personal
Puff – extra information about what is in the magazine – people who are into this type of genre of music are expected to know who ‘Giulianai’ is
Pugs – necessary for all magazines – here they are not together which is unusual
Coverlines – giving little information but gives the reader an insight into what they are about to read/buy
Red stands out on the titles of the coverlines – adds more colour to the magazine
Simple white background – not taking any attention away from the cover model and coverlines

Masthead is bold and strong with the cover model covering some of it – following the usual conventions
Well known name bolder and in a larger font
Cover model giving eye contact to the audiences – feels like she is looking straight at you. Kelly Clarkson is a well known face and this anchorage will interest the readers even more as it states ‘fights for her life’ making readers and fans perhaps worried and want to read on
Coverlines cover the cover page naming many different well known names which is set out to
Upper banner stands out as the black contrasts with the white background. This is a second big story in the magazine
Pugs all together
Tagline - short but the word ‘buddy’ makes this sound like a fun magazine to read
