Reasons for Adapting Anthony Browne’s Artifacts
A. Anthony Browne creates a series of books about gorilla.
B. We want to use this video to teach students, especially those with no parents and live with adopted family.
C. We want to encourage children to brainstorm their ideas.
Author-
Anthony Browne
• As a childAnthony grew up in a village called Hipperholme, in Yorkshire
He says his father was an unusual man – strong and confident, but also shy and sensitive – a bit like the gorillas he love to illustrate now.
• As an adult Anthony studied graphic design and then went on to paint the insides of people’s bodies for medical textbooks.
The work became repetitive so that Anthony began designing greetings cards.
This in turn led him to illustrating children’s books – his book Gorilla began life as a picture on a birthday card.
