vs competition To Use: Type in URL under traffic

rankings & record statistics Meaning: If competitors have lower

ranking number = they are getting more traffic than you

Test Organic Ranking

Conduct 3 Google Searches Purpose: see who has higher ranking

with relevant keywords To Use: think like a customer, use

phrases, no industry jargon Meaning: if you are not on page one

but competitors are = spend time and/or $ improving

Find Keyword List

Purpose: Gain list of competitors keywords!

To Use: At competitor’s homepage right click and select “View Page Source”

Meaning: Look for Meta Tag labeled “Keywords” and list is after. Try targeting those for your business as well.

Meaning: Get some ideas of sites you could try to get linking to. Must be relevant!

Check copyright date at page bottom – anything over 2 years is old

Check news items – anything over 6 months is not news

Visitors will click off a site if they feel content is old. Do NOT waste their

time!

Change your copyright date to current year after making updates.

Get rid of news articles on site over six months old.
