Risk Assessment

Mr. Anand Gupta was involved in the following Risk Assessment Studies:

Fire Safety Assessment Review of RAPID Project Package-3, PETRONAS I worked as a technical scribe, reviewing the Fire Safety of Package-3 which comprises of Saturated Gas Plant (SGP), Diesel Hydrotreaing Plant (DHT), Kerosene Hydrotreating Unit (KHT), Cracked Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit (CNHT), Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit, Continuous Catalytic Reforming Unit (CCR), Hydrogen Production Unit (HPU), Refinery Pressure Swing Adsorption Unit (RPSA), Flare System, Instrumented Air system, Refinery Interconnecting Unit. I was also involved in reviewing the design adequacy, the standards used and their relevancy to the project. This was a check on whether requisite assessment has been undertaken to assess loss of containment and fire scenarios (i.e., through QRA, Fire Risk Assessment, Consequence Analysis, etc.) and whether the assumptions used in such assessment are still relevant to the project (i.e., detection, inventory reduction, availability of firewater system, drainage facilities, operational/manning philosophy, etc.).The study was conducted during the EPCC stage of the project in support of the Detail Engineering Design by Tecnicas Reunidas, Spain. Client: PETRONAS.

Alarm Management Study for Jazan Refinery & Terminal Project, Saudi Arabia, 2014 I was a technical scribe in the Alarm Management Study for the Jazan Refinery & Terminal Project. The scope of the study includes prioritization and rationalization of the alarms configured in the Naphtha Hydro treater and Reforming Unit, C5/C6 Isomerization Unit Para xylene Complex and Benzene Extraction Unit. The Study involved more than 3,000 alarms including DCS process alarms, SIS ESD trip alarms, instrument alarms, equipment alarms, system alarms etc. The study was conducted during the EPC stage of the project in support of the Detail Engineering Design by JGC Corporation (JGC). Client: Saudi Aramco.

I was a technical scribe in the Alarm Management Study for the Clean Fuels Project- Mina Abdullah Refinery, KNPC. The scope of the study includes prioritization and rationalization of the alarms configured in the Crude Distillation Unit, Vacuum Rerun Unit, Diesel Hydro treater Unit, kerosene Hydro treater Unit, Heavy Oil Cooling Unit, Atmospheric Desulphurization Unit, Naphtha Hydro treater Unit, Continuous Catalytic Reformer Unit, Hydrocracker Unit, Offsite and Flare Unit. The Study involved more than 4,000 alarms including DCS process alarms, SIS ESD trip alarms, instrument alarms, equipment alarms, system alarms etc. The study was conducted during the EPC stage of the project in support of the Detail Engineering Design by Petrofac, Samsung, CB&I Joint Venture (PSCJ). Client: KNPC.

Alarm Management Study for Clean Fuels Project- Mina Ahmadi Refinery, KNPC, Kuwait, 2015 I was a technical scribe in the Alarm Management Study for the Clean Fuels Project- Mina Ahmadi Refinery, KNPC. Dropped Object Study

Dropped Object Study for Angola Block 15/06-East hub Development Project, Bhumiarmada, 2014 The scope of the study to estimate the risk levels to critical equipment on the topside as well as subsea due to impact from dropped/ swinging objects for the Angola Block 15/06 East Hub Project. The study objective was to evaluate the risk arising from dropped objects and swinging loads from the Platform Crane / handling facilities with respect to the equipment distribution and laydown areas arrangement.

Front End Engineering Design of Delayed Coker Unit (DCU), India. I worked as a Job Engineer, responsible preparation of P&IDs, equipment datasheet, instrument datasheet for Delayed Coker Unit. He also provided commissioning assistance and supervision for Offshore Platforms which includes Well Gas Receiver, Production Manifold, HP Separator, Gas Dehydrating Unit, Produced Water Conditioner, and HP / LP Flare Distribution etc. Client: GSPC
