They are made of metal and are comprised of two parts: the grooved tack section that pushes up through the denim and the top button that is then hammered on to the tack. The majority of jeans have a zipper fly with a stud button at the top to secure the pants. !The components can have different finishes.

A metal accessory that is used for reinforcement of stress points. Washing and wear will cause holes by the pocket. !Originally in copper and hidden under the pocket corners. They can be ornamental with different finishes.

The fifth pocket, also called watch pocket. !Strictly functional, it sits inside the right front pocket and justifies the term five-pocket jeans. !It can also be reinforced with bartacks. !
