Modern Perceptions: In 1880, Dr. Henry Faulds of Scotland

published a paper on the use of fingerprints for identification

Starting in 1888, Sir Francis Galton began publishing works about fingerprints, identifying patterns, creating a system of classification, and determining that the odds of two people having the same fingerprint were vanishingly small, thus making them suitable for forensic work.

The Henry classification system, devised by Sir Edward Richard Henry in 1896-7, enabled prints to be classified and sorted; it was adopted by Scotland Yard in 1901.

Eventually became the ubiquitous method of classifying fingerprints from then until the computer age.

Everything in Pairs

1400-year Old Signs: Glory be to Him Who has

created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own kind, and of that which they know not [YaSeen 36:36]

Modern Perceptions: British physicist, Paul Dirac, who

discovered that matter was created in pairs, won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1933. In addition, the botanists discovered the gender distinction in plants only some 100+ years ago.

Modern science confirms that animals as well as plants are in pairs. The smallest microbes, viruses, and bacteria have their counterpart antibodies. DNA's inner structure is also paired. The asexual reproduction stage is essentially a process of breaking up of the DNA "pair" of strands into two; followed by each of which re-forming its complementary strand.

Each type of sub-atomic particle (of over 200 now discovered) is now believed to have its companion antiparticle, having the same mass but opposite in some other characteristic such as charge, spin, or otherwise.

Modern Perception: 1031 - Al-Biruni described the Earth's

gravitation as "the attraction of all things towards the centre of the earth."

1121 - Al-Khazini is the first to propose that the gravity and gravitational potential energy of a body varies depending on its distance from the centre of the Earth (The Book of the Balance of Wisdom)

This phenomenon is not proven until Newton's law of universal gravitation centuries later.

1686 - Isaac Newton confirmed the gravity through scientific experiments.

Water Cycle

1400-year Old Signs: Quran: The Thunder 13:17 - He sends down water from the

skies, and the channels flow, each according to its measure ...

The Rocky Path 15: 22 - And We send the fecundating winds, then cause the rain to descend from the sky, therewith providing you with water (in abundance), though ye are not the guardians of its stores.

The Believers 23:18 - And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away.

The Groups 39:21 - Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then makes it go along in the earth in springs, then brings forth therewith herbage of various colors, then it withers so that you see it becoming yellow, then He makes it a thing crushed and broken into pieces? Most surely there is a reminder in this for the men of understanding.

The Criterion 25:48-50 - And He it is Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy; and We send down pure water from the cloud, that We may give life thereby to a dead land and give it for drink, out of what We have created, to cattle and many people. And certainly We have repeated this to them that they may be mindful, but the greater number of men do not consent to aught except denying.

Modern Perception: < Regarding these Quranic verses: no

other text dating back 7th century or earlier gives such descriptions of the water cycle.

(comparing to the mythical concepts that were prevalent at that time, which had developed more according to the philosophical speculations instead of observed phenomena)

With adoption of a more scientific approach, Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) also reached an accurate representation of the hydrologic cycle.

In 1580, Bernard Palissy was the first man to describe the present day concept (i.e. clear formulation) of 'water cycle'

It was not until the 17th century that hydrologic variables began to be quantified.

Earth’s Protective Shield

preserved and protected roof; yet still they turn away from Our signs.

Modern Perception: Evangelista Torricelli is credited with

being the first person to recognize atmosphere (in 1644).

Few examples of protective layers in our atmosphere:

Ozone layer (discovered in 1913 by the French physicists Charles Fabry and Henri Buisson) prevents 95% of these dangerous rays from space.

Troposphere layer enables water vapor rising from the surface of the Earth to be condensed from whence it returns to the Earth in the form of rain.

The magnetosphere acts as a shield that protects us from solar storms. It serves as a shield protecting the Earth from celestial bodies, harmful cosmic rays and particles.

Night for Rest

Modern Perception: Melatonin (identified in 1958) is a

naturally occurring compound found in animals, plants and microbes. It is known as the "hormone of

darkness" since it is secreted at night

In humans, melatonin is produced by the pineal gland. The melatonin signal forms part of

the system that regulates the sleep-wake cycle (Circadian rhythm) by chemically causing drowsiness, lowering the body temperature, and slowing down physical movements.

Moon Split in Half

1400-year old signs: [Quran 54:1] The Hour (of Judgment) is

nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. Narrated Anas: That the Meccan people

requested Allah's Apostle to show them a miracle, and so he showed them the splitting of the moon. [Bukhari V4, Book 56, #831]

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud (who said): We were along with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) at Mina, that moon was split up into two. One of its parts was behind the mountain and the other one was on this side of the mountain. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upbn him) said to us: Bear witness to this. There was a question about the billions spent on travelling to space instead of spending it on solving the problems facing humanity... the scientists answered that these exploratory expeditions to the space have helped in developing many techniques in so many fields especially the first Apollo mission to the moon cuz it has proven a fact ( A fact people would never believe even if we spent billions and billons to convince them with it)... Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson made a Noble Prize winning discovery that confirmed the theory.

Sun is losing energy

The Last Coccyx Bone

1400-year old signs: Abu Huraira (r) reported that

The Prophet Muhammad (s) said: “All what of son of Adam will (be consumed) by the earth except the coccyx from which he was created and from which he will be

resurrected.” [Reported by Albukhari,

Muslim, Al Nassaii, Abu Daoud, Ibn Majah and Ahmad and Malek.]

Modern Perceptions: The primitive streak and the primitive

node represent the coccyx. German Scientist Hans Spemann discovered that they are able to organize and grow, giving the three layers that form the fetus: ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. He and other scientists conducted some experiments on the amphibians in 1931-33 but could not destroy the Primary Organizer after repeated crushing/boiling, as experimented. Hans Spemann was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the Primary Organizer in 1935.

Other scientists, such as Dr Othman Al Djilani and Sheikh Abd Al and Dr al OlakiMajid Azzandani did similar experiments in 2002 on two vertebras' five coccyx bones, but the cells of the bone tissues were not affected.

Fasting

1400-year old signs: O ye who believe! Fasting is prescribed to

you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may (learn) self-restraint. [Quran 2:183]

“(Fast) for a certain number of days; but whoever among you is sick or on a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days; and those who are not able to do it may effect a redemption by feeding a poor man; so whoever does good spontaneously it is better for him; and that you fast is better for you if you know.” [Quran 2:184]

Few Scientific Perceptions of Fasting: It creates a condition of low concentration of

toxic wastes in the circulatory system (Ron Kennedy).

It dissolves all unnecessary and unnatural fat deposits all over the body and the body is relieved of a tremendous burden (Bragg & Bragg 1999)

Cleansing process of fasting actually gets rid of cementing and intrusive particles of the nerve tissues

a greater number of our brain cells come into contact with purified blood and the improved flow of blood to the brain helps to clarify our mind.

It gives vital organs a complete rest; it promotes elimination of metabolic wastes; it restores a youthful condition to the cells and tissues; increases the powers of digestion and assimilation; clears and strengthens the mind (Jack Goldstein).

Friedrich William Herschel discovered that the Solar System is in motion, and used the term: Solar Apex. The solar system is indeed moving in space towards a point situated in the constellation of Hercules (alpha Layer) whose exact location is firmly established by modern astronomy.

Relative Time

1400-year Old Signs: [10:45] And on the day when He will gather

Earthly Facts of

Relative Time: Satellites used for the GPS are

launched with their clocks running faster so that when they reach orbit they mark time the same as Earth-based clocks.

Because time passes more slowly in orbit around Earth, astronauts arrive home a little younger than if they had spent the same amount of time on Earth.

Experiments with atomic clocks show the higher above sea level they are (and therefore under less gravitational influence) the faster they run.

if an airplane flies around the earth twice, but in reverse directions - first time, say, from east to west; and second time, say, from west to east on the same path and same speed, it won't give equal travel times.

Constriction by Height

Modern Perceptions: That's what one indeed feels while

climbing up high in the mountain, far above the sea level -- around 16,000ft or above -- air sacs grow narrow and contract due to lack of oxygen in gradually thinner atmosphere ... fatigue, headaches, dizziness, nausea, and loss of judgement begin to emerge at that point!

Modern Perceptions: The temperature of the earth was

not sufficient at the beginning for the formation of iron. That is why iron must have come to earth from outer space!

signs of the “last hour,” among other things, the prophet (s) said, “… and that you see barefoot, unclothed, beginning shepherds competing in the construction of tall buildings…” - Sahih Muslim.

Among the signs of the Hour mentioned in the hadith Sahih al-Bukhari is: “… when the destitute (al-buhm) camel-herds compete in building tall structures …”

Water Barrier

1400-year old signs: He has let loose the two seas (the salt

and the fresh water) meeting together. Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny? – Quran 55:19-21.

And He it is Who has made two seas to flow freely, the one sweet that subdues thirst by its sweetness, and the other salt that burns by its saltness; and between the two He has made a barrier and inviolable obstruction. – Quran 25:53

Modern Perceptions: Less dense fresh water from the land forms a layer (barrier)

over salt water from the ocean. A pycnocline is a region of the water column with a rapid

vertical change in density. When the density difference between the layers of water on either side of the pycnocline is great, it acts as barrier to vertical transport of dissolved and particulate materials.

The vertical density structure within the ocean and how layering (density stratification) controls water motion, impedes nutrient transport, and regulates biological productivity.

With circulation, this spreads out and becomes weaker and disappears completely. Thus, when the water converges then pycnocline is not taking place.
