Basic conventions of a double page spread:

•a large, focal image•headline•a pull quote•main star name in bold•stand first•text arranged in columns •other, relevant images•colour scheme•page numbers•first letter of first text is enlarged

Headline which is

striking to engage the reader but

doesn’t give away the

topic of the spread

Large image which is the main focal point of the double page spread, usually it takes up one whole page or bleeds

between the two. Often it starts the colour scheme, which in this case brings about the colour scheme of purple and pink

which is recurrent throughout the spread.

Pull quote which is usually an engaging section of the text which draws the readers attention and engages them before even reading the main article

Main star name in bold which captivates the audience and

highlights the main figure of the spread

Text arranged in columns so it is clear and concise and is often used

in double page spreads

Other relevant images which are in turn just as

captivating so that the reader is engaged the whole way

through

Consistent colour

scheme to keep the audience engaged and keep

consistency and fluency.

If various different colours

were used the spread would look disorganise

Page numbers make the

spread look professional

and allow readers to

easily navigate from page to page

show the start of the text

and draw the reader to it
