An Introduction to JudoScotland
As the sportscotland-recognised national governing body for the Olympic sport of Judo, JudoScotland (JS) represents its growing individual membership, member clubs, coaches and hundreds of qualified, enthusiastic and committed volunteers delivering judo across Scotland. We believe that the Olympic sport of Judo has the potential to have a major impact on the lives of the Scottish population. Our sport has an inherent ability to engender respect for others, a sense of fair-play, develops a personal confidence and self-discipline within its participants, along with the obvious potential for an improvement in physical fitness.

Business Support TeamFollowing the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the commencement of a new strategic plan, JudoScotland realigned its existing delivery functions under four business areas: Leadership and Governance; Business Delivery; Performance Development; and Business Support.The role of the Communications and Marketing Executive sits within the JudoScotland Business Support Team, alongside its membership services, performance support services and finance functions. The Business Support Team is led by Freda McInulty, Lead Executive.
Primary Job PurposeYou will provide leadership and delivery of strategic communications including: internal and external messaging; media relations; public relations; digital and social media; and issues management. You will deliver creative services, campaigns, marketing, copyrighting and the JudoScotland website.Your key goals will be to: strengthen the JudoScotland message; drive awareness of JudoScotland services, goods and athlete performances; provide accurate and compelling information to the Scottish media, JudoScotland members and supporters; and maximise responses, engagement and return on investment. The role will require you to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver time-sensitive projects and campaigns and to ensure the impact of all campaigns is maximised to promote the JudoScotland brand to its fullest potential.
Specific Job ResponsibilitiesCommunications
1. To provide leadership and delivery of strategic communications including: internal and external messaging; media relations; public relations; digital and social media; and issues management;
2. To deliver creative services, campaigns, marketing, copyrighting and the JudoScotland website;3. To support Business Delivery Team and Performance Development Team in the day-to-day
delivery of JudoScotland initiatives, programmes and performances;
4. To strengthen the JudoScotland brand message; drive awareness of JudoScotland services, goods and athlete performances;
5. To provide accurate and compelling information to the Scottish media, JudoScotland members and supporters;
6. To deliver and expand engaging social media content that excites and inspires;7. To maximise responses, engagement and return on investment. 8. To support the growth of the JudoScotland brand, ensuring consistency across all internal and
external communications and with all partners.9. To undertake other communications activity as directed by the Lead Executive or Chief
Executive Officer (CEO).Marketing
10. To provide leadership and delivery of brand marketing on behalf of JudoScotland;11. To market the sport of Judo-in-Scotland;12. To generate leads for potential commercial partnerships;13. To undertake other marketing activity as directed by the Lead Executive or CEO.

LocationJudoScotland has its headquarters located within the Edinburgh International Climbing Area (EICA) complex, South Platt Hill, Ratho, Newbridge, EH28 8AA. The role will be based at the JudoScotland office, although it will involve travel across Scotland and potentially further afield.

Remuneration and Benefits 2. Point of salary commencement will be toward the start of the relevant scale and will be
dependent on qualifications, demonstrable skills and relevant experience.3. In conjunction with government legislation, JS are required to automatically enrol all qualifying
staff members into a qualifying pension arrangement and to make employer contributions to that pension by 1 April 2017. Further details of this will be supplied to the successful candidate.
