Anderson Technology Corporation (ATC) was established in 1979 as a Japanese-American joint venture with

the aim of investigation, planning, design, instruction, construction and repair works under supervision of Dr.

Arthur R. Anderson, known worldwide as an authoriti on prestressed concrete. He also developed the Ander-

son Post-Tensioning System (APS) which ATC possesses the right to implement.

APS in Japan has been refined, widened, and further developed with originality in pace with evolution of tech-

nologies in post-tensioning tendons. Thereafter we are focussing our resources on other areas than bridges

such as ground anchoring for stabilizing slopes or cut-soil walls, architectural structures, storage tanks, and

offshore structures. Technological advancement in APS is enhanced through association with Concrete Tech-

nology Corporation and Berger/ABAM Engineers (Washington, USA), and affiliated factories in China.

Internal Tendon System

Multi-strand Type

Mono Strand Type

The main components of the APS internal tendon system include AS225M, APS13-12, APS15-12 and APS13-7 which

have been designed to include FS & FB types (see the table shown below) for application in areas of salt attack.

The cone-type anchorage for multi-strand tendon, which is fundamental to the Anderson post-tensioning system,

consists of a pair of compact female cone made of steel and male cone named plug made of aluminum alloy. The

wedge function of both cones anchors 12 strands at a time. Because the materials is rather soft compared to the

prestressing steel, there are no indentation such as the teeth-marks of the wedge when seated. Because of this

characteristics, temporal anchorage or de-tensioning or re-tensioning can be easily done in a stable condition.

The circular type of the anchor for the 19-strand tendon is relatively compact, light, and economical.

Supro (Super corroslon protection) strand has special type of polyethylene which is workable with adhesive and

not only filled completely into interstices among wires without unraveling them but also coated on outer surface

with thickness of 0.4mm leaving no pinhole on them. For external tendons it has harder coating (NM Type)

bonded over the standard supro coating, yet maintaining the total thickness of coating as same as the standard.

There are three types of jacks in AJ200 series: The standard (AJ200), the short stroke (AJ200S) and the long stroke (AJ200L) types. According to the requirement the most suitable jack can be provided such as the double gripping jack for eliminating temporary seating by an anchor to reset the stroke if necessary.
