Page 3: Andrea, Lily, Millie, Natalie, Nichole DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Began in the DR in 1995 Invest in the communities through Village

Partnership Program including schools, churches, feeding programs and medical services

Child Sponsorship to provide children with education, nutrition, health, clothing and ministry

COTN has established relationships in the communities, so we will be recognized in the community.

Goal: To end the dead-end cycle of poverty and to give these precious children a chance at a life far diff erent from the one they had – a chance to make a diff erence in their own communities

EMPOWERMENT and LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

WHO IS CHILDREN OF THE NATIONS?

Building relationships with with people in the village of Los Robles as well as our host and COTN.

Installation of Pro-Vector devices and education on their use. Attract mosquitos both visually and olfactory with color and chemical attractants

Middle “bait” must be replaced every 6-9 months. This explains the continual, long-term need for people in the communities. It is not just a one time thing but a long lasting relationship between the communities and COTN.

We are also partnering with the University of Texas with the WASH (Water Sanitation Hygiene) program, helping with a census of global health.

Exploring the health impacts of education in three rural Bateyes.

We will be fi lling out household registers. This allows us to really get to know the families and to build trusting relationships.

This is to collect and monitor vital information about EVERY household in each of the 5 communities to capture vital statistics about the size of families, the number of families per households, the total population of each community and some of the important health outcomes for each family.
