Hungary has many gold medals. The Hungarians are known for their skills at water sports, especially swimming, water polo and canoeing, which can be said to be surprising, first, due to Hungary being landlocked. opportunities to practice these sports. Some of the best world's saber fencing athletes have historically hailed from Hungary. The Hungarian national team of ice hockey, also qualified for their first IIHF World Championship in over seventy years.
