Researched and implemented alternative load balancing algorithms within Radwarethat reduced CPU utilization avoiding a premature costly upgrade.

Scripted (in ksh) a large automated Oracle database backup job involving twodatabase instances on two servers and two NetApp filers. The final product allowedvalidation of production hot backup snapshots before writing to tape. The resultingsecond instance was used to offload business reports from the production database.

Championed the use of a wiki for storage of departmental documentation. Configured a multi-link PPP channel between two Cisco 2600 routers providing fault

tolerance and allowing the bandwidth aggregation of two T1 lines for remote office. Configured a MS-SQL Server Enterprise Cluster on Dell Hardware for third party

application integration.

Accomplishments: Developed an XML service in Perl that exposes sports lines and current betting trends

process management software. Built a monitoring script (sh and expect) to backup configurations from Cisco, Juniper

devices and send alerts by email detailing changes. Rolled out the OpenFire XMPP Server and discouraged use of MSN for corporate

communication eventually leading to policy enforcement. Rolled out Vintela Authentication Services to support management of UNIX accounts

within Active Directory providing single account login as part of security compliancerequirements.

Built a four node Oracle Real Application Cluster on IBM X440 NUMA Linux servers forapplication and RAC validation testing.

Participated in a DR project involving replication of production services and databaseto a datacenter outside of Montreal. This involved installing RAC on a four node Solaris9 cluster of SunFire V440 servers.

Migrated development and QA testing farms from physical servers to VMWare ESX.
