INTRODUCTIONWhat is Android?
Android is a mobile operating system(OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google,With a user interface based on direct manipulation. Android is designed primarily for touch screen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.
INTRODUCTIONOrigin of Android? It was founded by Andy Rubin(employee of Google) in 2003,
in a place called Palo Alto in California. Later, it was purchased by
Google in August 2005
HISTORY OF ANDROID Android mobile operating system began with the release of the
Android beta in November 2007. The first commercial version, Android 1.0, was released in September
2008. Since then it has worked on Alphabetical Order .

Android Eclair 2.0/2.1 Released on October 26, 2009. Bluetooth 2.1 support. No Adobe flash media support
Android Froyo 2.2 Released on May 20, 2010. Support for Adobe Flash 10.1
No internet calling.
Android Gingerbread 2.3 Released on December 6, 2010. Internet calling One touch word selection and copy/paste
Android Honeycomb 3.0 Released on february 22,2011 This version of android is only available for tablets
Android IceCreamSandwich 4.0 Released on November 14,2012. Ability to shut down apps that are using data in
the background.
Android jellybean 4.1 Released on June 27, 2012. Simplified Setup Wizard
Android Kit Kat 4.4 Released on October 31, 2013. Wireless printing capability Wi-Fi and mobile data activity (TX/RX)
indicators are moved to quick settings
INTODUCTION TO ANDROID LOLLIPOP 5.0
Android "Lollipop", or simply "Android L",
is the latest version of the Android mobile
operating system developed by Google ,
spanning versions between 5.0 and 5.1. One of the most prominent changes
in the Lollipop release is a redesigned
user interface built around a design
language called as "material design". Other changes include improvements
to the notifications. Google also made internal changes to the platform, with the Android
Runtime (ART) officially replacing Dalvik for improved application performance.

ENHANCED NOTIFICATIONS Android L enhanced the notifications as
they will display on the Lock Screen.If
one can easily swipe it away or can double tap to open the relevant app
Notifications in Android 5.0 are more
visible, accessible, and configurable. Key notification alerts such as incoming
calls appear in a heads-up notification
New Lock Screen Android L has the new Lock Screen which shows the notifications. Lock screens in Android 5.0 have the ability to present notifications.
Users can choose via Settings whether to allow sensitive notification content to be shown over a secure lock screen.
New Multi-TaskingAndroid L has the new recent apps section which is of Google Now card style layout.New APIs allow you to show separate activities in your app as individual documents alongside other recent screens.
Security- Personal Locking As Google mentioned that security is the key factor for android users.
The best example is the unlocking the Smartphone by using the Android Wear smartWatch.
Battery Life – New Saver Mode Android L give the facility of extra 90 minutes of extra use per charge
as the battery saver mode.We can automatically switch to battery saver depending on the battery level
