Thechargingportislocatednexttothepowerswitch.ThemalemicroBendoftheprovidedwhitechargingcordisconnectedtothisport.TheotherendofthechargingcordcanbeconnectedtoafemaleUSBportthatprovidespower,suchasacomputerorthroughanACadapter.
Whenthedeviceischarging,ayellow/orangelightwillilluminateindicaSngthatitischarging.Theyellow/orangelightwillturnoffleavingonlyagreenpowerlightwhenitisfullycharged.Chargingtakesapproximately2hours.
TheCamRangerba_eryisaccessiblebyremovingthebo_omcover.Thebo_omcoveristhesidewiththeCamRangerserialnumber.Simplygraspthesideedge/cornerofthecoverneartheUSBconnectorandpullbacktoremove.Toreplacethecover,firstplacethetwolowertabsintotheslotsandthensnapinthetop.
� CamRangerisnotwater-resistantinanywayandshouldnotgetwet.
Ablackneoprenecaseisprovidedtoassistina_achingandsecuringtheCamRanger,notethatthispouchisnotwaterproof.Thecasehasacarabineertofacilitatehangingfromatripod,beltloop,etc.DonotjusthangtheCamRangerbythecableasitwillputstrainontheUSBconnectorsaswellaspossiblydisconnect.

Enterthe8-characterCamRangerserialnumber.Theserialnumberislocatedbothonthebo_omofthebackcoveraswellasabovetheba_eryunderneaththebackcover.Note:TheCamRangerdoesnotneedtobeonduringtheregistraSonstepandtheserialnumbercontainsonlyle_ersandNOnumbers.

CamRangerSetupThefirstSmetheuserconnectstotheCamRangerfromanAndroiddevice,theAndroiddeviceneedstoberegistered.SeetheCamRangerRegistraSonsecSonaboveformoredetails.
WhenstarSngaCamRangersession,powerontheCamRanger,andconfirmallfourlightsbrieflyappearontheCamRangerunit.TheCamRangerwilltakeapproximately30-45secondsunSlitisfullyiniSalized.
ConnecSngtotheCamRangernetworkcanbedoneinoneoftwoways:fromwithintheAndroidCamRangerapporwithinthedevice’sInternetse[ngs.

OncetheAndroiddeviceisconnectedtotheCamRangernetwork,connecttheCamRangertothecamerausingtheprovidedblackUSBcable.ThemaleAendisinsertedintotheUSBportattheendoftheCamRanger,andtheotherendisconnectedtotheUSBportofthecamera.Thenensurethecameraisturnedon.WhenthecameraisconnectedandturnedonthegreenlightclosesttotheedgeoftheCamRangerdevicewilllight.

MainImageViewLiveviewandcapturedimagesaredisplayedwithinthemainimageview.
CapturedImagesImageswillbedisplayedonthemainimageviewinoneoftwoways,byselecSngathumbnailinthethumbnailssecSonorthroughtheAuto-Viewfeature.TheAuto-ViewfeatureisdescribedinmoredepthintheAdvancedSe[ngssecSon.
Itisimportanttonotethatthatimagesdisplayedinthemainviewarenotsavedbydefaultandaresimplybeingdisplayed.TosavetheimagetotheAndroiddevice,refertotheAdvancedSe<ngssec*onofthismanualonpage20.
Imagesmaybezoomedinto100%resoluSonbypullingyourfingersapartonthedevice’sscreenandcanbezoomedoutbypinchingyourfingersonthescreen.Whenzoomedin,theimagecanbepannedbydraggingafinger.Pinchyourfingersonthescreentoreturntheviewtoitsoriginalstate.
AsindicatedinthethumbnailssecSon,TIFFandCanonRAWimagescannotbeviewedwhileNEFfilescanbeviewedascompressedJPGfiles.
LiveViewImagesInliveview,theimageisautomaScallyupdatedasliveviewimagesstreamin.TheexactrateisverymuchdependentonWiFisignalstrengthandthecameraandAndroiddevicespecs.However,assumingagoodconnecSon,liveviewframeratewillbeabout7–18fpsdependingonthecameramodel.
Duringliveviewtheimagemaybesingletappedtofocusatthatpoint.NotethatforCanoncameras,theouteredgesoftheimagecannotbefocusedon.Pullyourfingersapartonthedevicesscreentozoominandpinchyourfingerstogethertoagainreturnthescreentoregularsize.
AliveviewhistogrammaybetoggledonorofffromtheDatatabasdescribedintheAdvancedDatasecSon.Togglingthehistogramonwillgenerateahistogramforeachliveviewframe;however,atthecostofadecreasedframerate.Togglethehistogramofftomaximizetheframerate.
Canoncamerascandisplaytheliveviewimageonthecameraaswellasallowphysicallytriggeringimagesbypressingthecamera’sliveviewbu_ona>erstarSngitontheCamRangerapp.NikoncamerasdonotallowanycontrolofthephysicalcamerawhileliveviewisacSve.

AdvancedTabsTherearefourtabsprovidingadvancedinformaSonorcontrols:Data,Focus,Timer,andHDR.AfiihTripodtaborStackShottabwillbepresentiftheCamRangerisconnectedtotherespecSvedeviceswiththeCamRangerPTHub.

TheDatatabshowsanRGBhistogramandmeta-dataassociatedwiththeimageinthemainimageview.Thefollowingmeta-dataisprovided:

TheFocustabisonlyenabledduringliveviewandprovidesadvancedfocusingcontrols.

FocusAdjustTherearetwosetsofbu_onstomovethelens’focalplanenearerorfurtherfromthecamera.Eachsethasthreebu_onswithdifferentsizedarrowstospecifyalarge,medium,orsmallstepinfocus.Tapthebu_ontomovethefocusbyasingleincrement,holdingdownthebu_onwillhavenoaffect.
FocusStackingFocusstackingisaprocessoftakingmulSplecaptureswithslightchangesinfocusandthenpostprocessingthemtoenhancethedepthoffield.TheautomaScfocusstackingfeatureallowstheusertosetthefocusstepsizetotakebetweenineachshotandthenumberofshotstotake.Eachfocusstepwillmovethefocalplanefurtherfromthecamera.Sotheuserwillwanttosetthefocustothenearestplanedesiredtobeinfocusandstartthestackingprocessfromthere.Iftoofewcapturesaretaken,theprocesscanberestartedfromwheretheiniSalstackingended.Note:thepostprocessingisnotdonewithintheCamRangerapp.

TimeLapse• TheentryfieldsareusedtospecifytheiniSaldelaybeforethefirstshot,thenumberofshotstotake,andthedelayinbetweeneachshot.
• Aierconfiguringthese[ngs,pressthe“Start”bu_ontobegintheintervalometerprocess.• TheintervalometercommandsarestoredontheCamRangerunitandtheAndroiddevicedoesnotneedtoremainonorconnected.

• TheIniSalDelayfieldspecifiestheamountofdelay,ifany,totakebeforebeginningthebrackeSngsequence.
