Information on Andy Warhol

Andy was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 6, 1928.

Andy’s real name is Andrew Warhola.

St.vitus dance

St. Vitus Dance is a disease which makes people shake uncontrollably. Andy had the St. Vitus Dance disease.

Andy having St. Vitus Dance caused him to have problems in school.

Andy also had big pink blotchy spots which did not help Andy with his self esteem.

Blotted line technique

Andy discovered the blotted line technique.

The blotted line technique is when you make a painting and then you tape another piece of paper to the other and then you put the blank piece of paper over the painting and you will get two of the same paintings.

LIfeAndy moved to New York when he was 21 to become an commercial artist.

Andy died on February 22, 1987 because of complications of his gallbladder surgery. Andy died when he was 58. There were over 2,000 people at Andy’s funeral.

Today Andy is well know as a Revolutionary artist who triggered the beginning of the pop art movement .

Andy’s father was a constructer worker and died because of an accident when Andy was only 13 years old.
