NOVA RE^ ZA PRIJATELJSTVO

ANIMANIMA. Neobi~na re~, zar ne? Nedavno je ugledala svetlo dana. Nastala je od latinske re~i anima – duša. Me|utim, pogledajte bolje: u ovoj re~i su, zapravo, dve duše, spojene zajedni~kim A! Kao po~etak i kao kraj, u neprekinutom, ve}nom krugu. ANIMANIMA je nova re~ koju smo smislili za bliskost, prijateljstvo... I, nije li to sjajno ime za festival animacije? ANIMANIMA li~i i na dadaisti~ku dosetku, igru, ali šta bi animacija bila bez igre! Homo ludens je taj kome uvek teba pružiti šansu. ANIMANIMA je i neologizam koji svojom zvu~noš}u podse}a na pokret, a to je tek prava stvar! Jer, pokrenuti sliku, udahnuti joj dušu, to je unutarnja zakonitost animacije.ANIMANIMA je festival koji nastavlja tradiciju nacionalnog Festivala animiranog filma jedne zemlje koja se zvala Jugoslavija. Govorimo o vremenu u kome su se svojim dostignu}ima uveliko etablirala ~uvena zagreba~ka i beogradska škola animacije, i njihovi ugledni autori, poput Dovnikovi}a ili Majdaka. Ali, nova istorija po~inje! I to, za razliku od prethodnog festivala, na me|unarodnom planu: promovisati nacionalne produkcije zemalja u regionu, u Evropi, i u ostatku sveta. S nadom da }emo uskoro postati deo globalne mreže animacije, pružaju}i ruku prijateljstva i Zagrebu i Anesiju, Rio de Žaneiru, Hirošimi, Otavi...Hemijska istorija filma približava se svom kraju. Digitalna matrica današnjice je realnost. ANIMANIMA }e uzeti iz prošlosti, a vrata širom otvoriti budu}nosti. ^udesni srebrni ekran bi}e mesto njihovog susreta, kao što }e ANIMANIMA biti mesto susreta studenata animacije i veterana osme umetnosti.ANIMANIMA se ove godine održava od 20. do 22. septembra. Srce festivala je Dom kulture koji se nalazi u srcu ^a~ka, a ^a~ak u srcu Srbije. Po~eli smo ovaj tekst dušom, završavamo ga srcem, sve to je za vas, naše goste i prijatelje.Dobro došli u ^a~ak, na me|unarodni festival animacije ANIMANIMA 2007!

NEW WORD FOR FRIENDSHIP

ANIMANIMA. No doubt an unusual word. It was conceived only recently, out of the Latin anima, meaning soul. A closer look will reveal its compound nature, its two souls joined by a common ’A’, symbolising both the beginning and the end, in an uninterrupted eternal circle. It is a new word that we have forged to represent closeness, friendship ... and, is it not a great name for a festival of animation? ANIMANIMA, like a Dadaist pun, a play, but then - what would animation be without playfulness? Does not homo ludens deserve another chance, after all? ANIMANIMA, like a neologism whose very sound conjures up movement, the real thing for anyone trying to make a visual image move: to move a picture, to give it a soul – this must be the inner law of animation.The ANIMANIMA festival is a continuation of the tradition established by the national Festival of Animated Film, in the country that used to be called Yugoslavia. We are here talking about the time in which the renowned Zagreb and Belgrade Schools of animation imposed their authority through their artistry, headed by the great names such as Dovnikovic and Majdak. Now is the time to open a new chapter in the modern history of animation. What is new in comparison to the previous festival is the international dimension, promotion of the national productions from the region, Europe, and other parts of the world as well. The festival’s hopes are directed towards becoming part of the global animation network, offering a friendly hand to Zagreb and Annecy, Rio de Janeiro, Hiroshima, Ottawa ...The chemical history of the film is nearing an end, the digital matrix of today has become the overwhelming reality. Leaning on the past, ANIMANIMA is keeping the door wide open to the future. The magical silvery screen is the meeting place of the two dimensions, much in the same way in which ANIMANIMA endeavours to be the meeting place for the upcoming students of animation and the veterans of the Eighth Art.This year, ANIMANIMA will be held from 20th to 22nd September. The heart of the festival is the Cultural Centre in ^a~ak, located itself in the heart of the city which lies in the heart of Serbia. We started this text with a soul, and we finish it with a heart – both for you, our guests and friends.Welcome to ^a~ak, to the international festival of animation, ANIMANIMA 2007!

O FESTIVALU Nastavljaju}i tradiciju Festivala animiranog filma koji se u ^a~ku održavao bijenalno od 1993. godine kao nacionalna manifestacija, ANIMANIMA }e biti godišnja, me|unarodnog karaktera. Pokrovitelj festivala je Opština ^a~ak, a organizator je Dom kulture ^a~ak, centar kulturnih doga|anja u gradu i festivalski centar za potrebe programa ANIMANIME. Me|u svojim glavnim ciljevima, Festival ANIMANIMA isti~e afirmaciju umetnosti animacije prezentovanjem ostvarenja autora iz zemlje i iz sveta, nastalih u svim raspoloživim tehnikama animacije u rasponu od klasi~ne do savremene kompjuterske animacije, u formama artisti~kih, komercijalnih, edukativnih, eksperimentalnih i drugih vidova animiranih filmskih ostvarenja; kao i povezivanje stvaralaca iz oblasti animacije iz celog sveta u prijateljskoj i stvarala~koj atmosferi. Takmi~arski deo festivala se odvija u tri kategorije: filmovi u trajanju do 5 minuta, filmovi u trajanju do 15 minuta, i animirani reklamni ili muzi~ki spot. Glavna nagrada festivala je Gran pri koji se sastoji iz nov~anog dela i trofeja “Zlatni štift” (štift je vrsta lenjira koji je karakteristi~no pomagalo u radu u klasi~noj animaciji; kad je re~ o Velikoj nagradi festivala, predstavlja simboli~ku vezu izme|u tradicije i savremenog doba animacije). Ostali programi su posebni (revije, retrospektive, omaži i sl) i prate}i (izložbe, koncerti, promocije i drugo). Filmove za takmi~enje odabira tro~lani Selekcioni žiri iz Srbije, a ocenjuje ih Glavni žiri u me|unarodnom sastavu. U okrilju festivala funkcioniše i škola animiranog filma, popularni CentAF (Centar za animirani film). Centar postoji od 1998. godine, a mladi autori koji su kao animatori prve korake na~inili u njemu, do sada su ve} ostvarili zna~ajne uspehe na festivalima u zemlji i u svetu.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL Continuing the tradition of the Animated Film Festival – a biannual event held in ^a~ak since 1993, ANIMANIMA will be an annual international event.The Municipality of ^a~ak is the patron of the festival, and its organiser is the ^a~ak Cultural Centre - as the focal point of the city’s cultural events, the Centre provides the facilities for ANIMANIMA.A principal aim of the ANIMANIMA festival is to affirm the art of animation, through featuring works of national and international authors. The works themselves comprise the most diverse techniques, ranging form the classical ones to the contemporary computerised techniques; they also cover a variety of forms, including artistic, commercial educative, experimental and other. Last but not least, the festival aims to bring together authors form all over the world, in a friendly and creative atmosphere.There are three categories in the festival competition: films up to 5 minutes long, films up to 15 minutes long, and animated commercial or music video. The festival’s main award, the Grand Prix consists of the money prize and the “Golden peg bar” (the so-called ‘štift’ is a kind of ruler frequently used in the classical animation drawing) symbolically represents the link between the traditional and the contemporary animation. Outside the competing segment, there is the special selection (reviews, retrospectives, miscellaneous shows, etc.), as well as the fringe events (exhibitions, concerts, promotions and similar events). There is a three-member Serbian jury that selects the films for the festival (the Selection Jury), and there is the international Supreme Jury that is in charge of the festival awards.Under the Festival’s wing, there is the school of animated film, the CentAF, started back in 1998. Many of the young authors who started here have already gained a reputation and have won significant awards at various festivals.

RE^-DVE O NAMA^a~ak se nalazi u centralnom delu Srbije, 144 km južno od Beograda (na oko dva i po sata vožnje automobilom). Grad leži na nadmorskoj visini od 242 metra, a ve}im delom pruža se desnom obalom reke Zapadne Morave. Opština broji 117.072 stanovnika (prema popisu iz 2002. godine), a grad 73.217.Na mestu današnjeg ^a~ka još u rimskom periodu nalazilo se zna~ajno naselje o ~emu svedo~e otkriveni ostaci rimskih termi, spomenici Jupiteru, Serapisu i Izidi, a posebno nalazište Gradina na planini Jelici. Pod imenom ̂ a~ak, prvi put se pominje u spisima iz 1408. godine. U gradskom jegru nalaze se vredna arhitektonska ostvarenja u rasponu od 12. do 19. veka.^a~ak je grad razvijene industrije, preduzetništva i uslužnog sektora, i predstavlja važan ekonomski, kulturni, sportski i turisti~ki centar ovog dela Srbije. Sa oko dvadeset osnovnih i srednjih škola i fakulteta, ovo je i grad mladih.U neposrednoj okolini nalazi se Ov~arsko-kablarska klisura, zašti}eno dobro izuzetnih prirodnih svojstava, u kojoj je deset srednjovekovnih manastira od izutenog kulturno-istorijskog zna~aja, zbog ^ega i nosi epitet “srpska Sveta gora”.Centar kulturnih doga|anja, ^vrsto ukorenjen u sveukupni društveni i privredni život grada, Dom kulture je u velikoj meri inicijator i kreator kulturnih navika ^a~ana. Nalazi se u centru grada, u upe~atljivom zdanju, autorskom delu iz 1970. gofine, arhitekte iz Zagreba Luja Šverera. A COUPLE OF WORDS ABOUT US^a~ak is located in the central part of Serbia, 144 km (about 2 ½ hours’ drive) south of Belgrade. The city lies at an altitude of 242 meters, with its bigger part lined along the right bank of the West Morava river. The 2002 census recorded that the municipality of ^a~ak had a population of 117,072, 73,217 of whom live in the city itself.The beginnings of the city are lost in the haze of time. Its prominence in the days of the Roman Empire is evident through the remnants of the old settlement that used to exist at the very site of the modern city’s centre, such as the foundations of a large Roman bath, monuments to Jupiter, Serapis and Isida. The recently excavated remnants of the ancient settlement of Gradina nestle at a peak of the Jelica mountain; this is a major archaeological find, which spans the late Roman and the early Christian epochs. The name of ^a~ak itself was mentioned for the first time in a manuscript dated 1408. The city’s architectural core contains valuable architectural monuments, built between 12th and 19th centuries.^a~ak has developed industrial, business and services sectors and is a true economic, cultural, sport and tourist centre of the region. It is also a city of the young, with its two dozen schools and colleges.The city’s western gate, the Ov~ar and Kablar gorge is a protected nature reserve, and an area of primary cultural importance - because of the importance of its ten medieval monasteries, people like to call it ‘the Serbian Holy Mountain’,

drawing a parallel with one of the most sacred places of the Orthodox Christians at the Mount of Athos in Greece.The hub of the cultural events, deeply rooted in the whole of the social and economic life of the city, the Cultural Centre is a major initiator and creator of the cultural habits of the local people. It is located in the city centre, in a building dominating the main square, a 1970 design of the Zagreb-based architect Lujo Sverer. Since its opening in 1971, the Cultural Centre has played a vital role of the city´s mediator of cultural events, featuring countless theatre performances, film projections, concerts, exhibitions, literary evenings, discussions…Apart form the ANIMANIMA festival, the Cultural Centre organises two more important events – ‘Days of Photography in Serbia’ and the exhibition of paintings, ‘The Spring Annual’. The educational programme is realized through the activities of the Actors Workshop, the Animation Film Centre, the Painting and the Ballet Studio.The publishing activities of the Cultural Centre are organised around two magazines: the Gradac magazine, a specialist edition dedicated to art and culture (the Cultural Centre is the co-publisher of Gradac, together with the Gradac Art Society), and the up-and-coming ART 032 magazine. The Cultural Centre building houses the “Branislava Maltez” bookshop, adding variety to the Centre´s cultural programme. Apart form creating and presenting various cultural and art events, the Cultural Centre is involved in the organisation of seminars, fairs, commercial presentations and other events.

Edukativni sadržaji realizuju se kroz aktivnosti Gluma~ke radionice i Centra za animirani film, kao i Likovnog i Baletskog studija.Izdava~ku delatnost ~ine ~asopis za kulturu i umetnost Gradac (kao suizdava~ sa Umetni~kim društvom Gradac), i revija za kulturu ART 032. U prostoru Doma kulture radi i knjižara “Branislava Maltez”, koja svojom delatnoš}u upotpunjava program. Osim kreiranja i prezentacije kulturno-umetni~kih programa, Dom kulture se bavi i organizacijom seminara, sajmova, komercijalnih prezentacija i drugih manifestacija.

VLADIMIR VESOVI], strip autor, animator Ro|en 1956. u Beogradu. Završio Višu pedagošku školu - likovni odsek u Beogradu i Akademiju umetnosti - odsek grafika u Novom Sadu. Diplomirao na temu Teorija i istorija svetskog stripa. ^lan ULUPUDSA od 1986. godine Stripove objavljivao u više doma}ih strip magazina i novina. Ilustrovao knjige za više izdava~a. Izlagao stripove i ilustracije na grupnim izložbama u zemlji i inostranstvu. Ure|ivao magazine “Tron” i “Stripmania”. Dobitnik je nagrada Zlatno pero za strip 1988. godine, i “Najbolji likovni pedagog” 1996. godine De~ijeg oktobarskog salona.Organizovao je pet bijenala doma}eg stripa u galeriji Kapetanija u Zemunu i pokreta~ je Me|unarodnog salona stripa u Studentskom kulturnom centru u Beogradu.Vodi školu stripa i ilustracije “\or|e Loba~ev” od 1992. godine u Beogradu, a od 1996. godine i u Novom Sadu.Radio je u studijima za animaciju “Dunav Film” i “Bikic Studio”, a trenutno radi u studiju “Black, White and Green”, na projektu Technotise -Edit i ja.

VLADIMIR STANI], animator, rediteljRo|en u Osijeku 20. februara 1947. godine. Gimnaziju završio u Beogradu. Studirao italijanski jezik i književnost na Filološkom fakultetu u Beogradu.Animacijom po~eo da se bavi 70-tih godina prošlog veka kao kino-amater. Profesionalac od 1973. Jedan je od osniva~a Biki} studija, gde je sara|ivao na izradi stranih animiranih serija. Autor je šest animiranih filmova.Predavao je animaciju na filmskoj školi Dunav filma. Nastavnik

Editor of the “Tron” and “Stripmania” Magazines.Awarded the Golden Pen award for his work in comics in 1988, and the Pedagogy in Art award at the 1996 Children’s October Salon.Organiser of five biannual festivals of the domestic comic art at the Kapetanija gallery in Zemun. One of the initiators of the International Comic Salon in the Students Cultural Centre in Blegrade.Since 1992, engaged in running the comic art and illustration school “\or|e Loba~ev” in Belgrade. Since 1996, the school has had a branch in Novi Sad.Cooperated with animation studios “Dunav Film” and “Bikic Studio”. Currently engaged at a Technotise project named “Edit and Me”, in the “Black, White and Green” studio.

VLADIMIR STANI], Animator, Director Born in Osijek on 20th February 1947. Graduated from a classical high school in Belgrade and studied the Italian language and literature at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade.

Glavni animator i supervizor nekoliko inostranih dugometražnih animiranih serija. Jedan od osniva~a BIKI] STUDIJA. Saradnik prestižnih marketinških agencija.Autor 12 animiranih filmova. Dobitnih više doma}ih i stranih nagrada, medju kojima i Zlatne medalje Beograda i nagrade festivala u Moskvi - “Zlatni vitez”.^lan Udruženja filmskih umetnika Srbije. Predava~ na Fakultetu Umetnosti “Bra}a Kari}”. Art direktor Studija za animaciju GILDA. Živi i radi u Beogradu.

His first encounter with the art of animation was as an amateur – cineaste, during the 1970s. He has been a professional animator since 1973.One of the founders of the Biki} studio, where he collaborated in the production of foreign animated series. Author of six animated films.Taught animation at the Dunav Film school of animation. Worked as a teacher in international workshops for children’s animated film in Vranje and Neum.Full-time animation teacher at the children’s animation workshop of the CentAF Animation Centre in the ^a~ak Cultural Centre.

PJOTR SAPEGIN je ro|en u Rusiji, 1955. godine. U Norveškoj živi i radi od 1990. godine i sada je i državljanin Norveške. Sapegin je 15 godina radio kao scenograf u pozorištima u Moskvi, me|u njima i Baljšom Teatru. Animacijom je po~eo da se bavi po dolasku u Norvešku. Sapegin je jedan od osniva~a studija za animaciju Studio Magica u Oslu, ali sada vodi sopstvenu kompaniju PRAVDA PRODUCTIONS (ustanovljenu 2001. godine) sa Dejvidom Reisom Andersonom i Mikelom Sandemuseom. Sapegin je autor velikog broja kratkih filmova koji su osvajali i nacionalne i me|unarodne nagrade (njegov film One Day a Man Bought a House osvojio ih je više od 20), kao i mnoštva izuzetnih animiranih reklamnih spotova.

SNEŽANA TRSTENJAK je ro|ena u Beogradu, 1963. godine. Kao reditelj-animator potpisuje osam animiranih ostvarenja za koja je dobila brojne nagrade (A1 i Paradise su prvi jugoslovenski u~esnici na festivalu u Hirošimi 1994. godine), kao i veliki broj TV reklama (JAT, Milk Shake, Soko Štark i dr). Autor je prve plastelinske animacije u Jugoslaviji (špica za FEST ‘91). U~esnik na dugometražnim animiranim projektima Hatcshipuh, Little Flying Bears, Tom-Tom and Nana, Anatol. U~esnik retrospektive srpske animacije u Be~u 2001. godine. Osniva~ ateljea VISUAL PRODUCTION koji okuplja umetnike razli~itih profila i interesovanja, animatore, reditelje, dizajnere, književnike. Stru~ni saradnik na Višoj elektrotehni~koj školi na smeru Audio i TV tehnologija na predmetima Multimedijalna produkcija i Osnovi animacije.

PJOTR SAPEGIN was born in Russia in 1955. He has been living and working in Norway since 1990 and is now a Norwegian citizen. Sapegin has worked for 15 years as a stage designer in the theatres in Moscow, among them at the Bolshoj theatre. He started to work with animation after moving to Norway. Sapegin was one of the founders of the animation studio Studio Magica in Oslo, Norway, but is now running his own production company, PRAVDA PRODUCTIONS (established 2001) with David Reiss-Andersen and Mikkel Sandemose. Sapegin has made a number of short films, which have won both national and international awards. His film One Day a Man Bought a House has won more than 20 national and international awards. Sapegin has also made a number of internationally acclaimed animated commercials.

SNEŽANA TRSTENJAK was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1963. As a director-animator she created eight highly acclaimed and awarded animated films, as well as a large number of TV commercials (JAT, Milk Shake, Soko Štark...) Her film A1 and Paradise were the first participants ever from Yugoslavia at Hiroshima Film Festival. FEST ’91 opening credit created by Snežana was the first clay animation ever created in Yugoslavia. She took part in the feature-length animated projects Hatcshipuh, Little Flying Bears, Tom-Tom and Nana, Anatol. Snežana’s works were the part of the retorspective of Serbian animation screened in Vienna in 2001. She is a founder of VISUAL PRODUCTION Atelier which gatheres different artists, animators, directors, designers, writers. Snežana is a consultant at the Department of audio and TV technology at

IGOR LAZIN je ro|en 1964. godine u Novom Kneževcu, u Srbiji. Studirao je dizajn na Likovnoj akademiji u beogradu u periodu od 1985. do 1989. godine. U Ma|arskoj živi od 1993. godine. Bavi se ilustracijom knjiga za decu i magazina, režijom umetni~kih i komercijalnih animiranih filmova, a bio je i Mc i Dj Radija Tilos u Budimpešti od 1994. godine. Posle rada u Studiju Varga izme|u 1993. i 1999. godine kao animator, osniva MYFILM STUDIO, 2000. godine. Izlagao je crteže i skuplture na velikom broju grupnih i samostalnih izložbi.

u ime ASIFE, Me|unarodne asocijacije animiranog filma, pozdravljam jedanaesti, sada me|unarodni, Festival animiranog filma u ^A^KU!Nema više sumnje da je animirani film umjetnost novog milenijuma i da se, na bilo kom nivou, nezaustavljivo razvija po ^itavom našem globusu. Naravno, to treba zahvaliti razvoju digitalne tehnike, koja je prakti~ki demokratizirala bavljenje animacijom, poništivši dobne i socijalne razlike me|u animatorima. On behalf of ASIFA, the International Association of Animated Film, I would like to welcome you all to 11th, now international, Festival of Animated Film in Cacak.It is beyond any doubt now, that the animated film is the art of the new millennium and that it is inexorably developing on every possible level all around the globe. Of course, we should thank the development of digital technology for this, because it practically democratised the work of animation by annulling all age and social differences between animators. It also enabled professional artists to make new breakthroughs after magnificent achievements of classical animation during the first one hundred years.ASIFA tries to follow the trends in the world, particularly in the countries from the Association, among which is Serbia.Film animation in Serbia has a long tradition, thanks to renowned Belgrade School. Lately, it shows the tendency to expand – from professional cinematography to children workshops, from university education and publishing to festivals and similar events.Cacak is one such example. Your festival, like all serious international festivals, besides presenting recent home and world productions, also introduces us to achievements that preceded present works, and actually generated them. It is also important to say that Cacak has a long tradition of promoting comic as a kind of art, that is a similar genre from which an animated film developed. Vesna Dovnikovi} je ro|ena je u Zagrebu, gdje je na Sveu~ilištu diplomirala filozofiju i njema~ki jezik. Od 1980. do 1992. godine je radila u organizaciji Svjetskog festivala animiranih filmova u Zagrebu, a ove godine izabrana je u novo Vije}e Festivala. Bila je ~lan žirija na filmskim festivalima animacije u Espinhu (Portugal), Birminghamu (SAD), Norwichu i Bradfordu (UK), Madridu (Španija), te Gencanu di Roma (Italija).Od 1994. godine, Vesna je u Zagrebu vodila kancelariju Generalnog sekretarijata ASIFA-e, a 2000. godine u Ottawi imenovana je za generalnog sekretara me|unarodne asocijacije animiranog filma. Za predsjednika ASIFE Hrvatske izabrana je 2003. godine. U~estvovala je na nekoliko medjunarodnih simpozijuma o animaciji (USA, Koreja, Bugarska, Kina). U Changchunu (Kina) 2006. Koledž umjetnosti imenovao je Vesnu Dovnikovi} za gostuju}eg profesora i savjetnika Centra za obrazovanje i proizvodnju u filmskoj animaciji sjeverne pokrajine Jilin.

Vesna Dovnikovic was born in Zagreb, where she graduated in Philosophy and German. From 1980 till 1992 she was involved in the organisation of the International Festival of animated films in Zagreb and this year she was chosen to be a member of the new festival council. She was also in the panel of judges at the following animation film festivals: Espinho (Portugal), Birmingham (USA), Norwich and Bradford (UK), Madrid (Spain) and Gencano di Roma (Italy).From 1994, Vesna was the head of the office of the general secretary of the ASIFE in Zagreb, and in 2000,in Ottawa, she was appointed as the general secretary of the International Association of Animated Film. In 2003, she was chosen as the president of ASIFE in Croatia. She took part in several international symposiums on animation (USA, Korea, Bulgaria, China). In 2006 in Changchun (China) the Art College appointed Vesna Dovnikovic as a guest lecturer and an adviser in the educational centre for film animation in the north province Jilin.

JORIS CLERTÉ (1969) is a director, animator, illustrator and musician. A Tort ou à Raison, his first music video, was produced by Donc Voilà for the band Prudence. Since then, Clerté has directed various music videos for Peter Van Pool, for the band Holden, as well as TV designs for Arte TV channel. Very talented and excellent technician, Clerté is capable of creating different graphic styles. He mixes real animated objects, and paper drawings animated by 2D and 3D computer effects. HENRIK DUZOLIJE (1974) je diplomac pariske Nacionalne škole lepih umetnosti (ENSAD). Njegov prvi film Obras bio je u selekciji velikog broja festivala na kojima je dobio i brojne nagrade, a Francuska akademija ga je 2006. godine nominovala u kategoriji najbolji kratki film za nagradu Cezar. Henrik sada radi na novom kratkom filmu, Babel, koji za temu ima Šangaj.

Born in 1974, HENDRICK DUSOLLIER graduated from Paris National School for fine Arts (ENSAD). Obras was Hendrick Dusollier’s first film. It was selected and awarded in numerous festivals and nominated for Best Short Film at the 2006 french academy awards (Les Cesar). Hendrick is now working on a new short film about Shanghai, Babel.

HUAN PABLO ZARAMELA je ro|en u Buenos Airesu, 1972. godine. Diplomirao je režiju i animaciju na Avelaneda institutu za kinematografsku umetnost. Karijeru zapo~inje kao autor reklama. Od 2000. godine Zaramela pravi nezavisne filmove sa svojom ženom Silvinom Kornijon. Ti radovi su nagra|ivani u celom svetu, poput kratkog filma Putovanje na Mars (Viaje a Marte, 2004) koji je skupio više od 45 svetskih priznanja. JUAN PABLO ZARAMELLA was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1972. Graduated at the Institute of Cinematographic Arts of Avellaneda as Animation Director, he began his career making stop motion commercials. Since 2000, Juan Pablo has been making independent films with his wife Silvina Cornillón. These works have been awarded prizes all around the world. TOT je ma|arski umetnik i animator, koji radi i kao predava~ na nekoliko instituta za animirani film kao što su odsek za animaciju na Moholji-Na| univerzitetu umetnosti i dizajna u Budimpešti; Kraljevskom koledžu umetnosti u Londonu; Nacionalnom insitutu za dizajn u indijskom gradu Ahmedabadu; i filmskoj akademiji Baden-Virtemberg u Ludvigsburgu, u Nema~koj.Geza M. Tot je jedan od direktora studija KEDD Animation u Budimpešti. Njegovi filmovi su sa velikim uspehom prikazivani na festivalima širom sveta. Kratki film Maestro Ameri~ka akademija je 2007. godine nominovala za Oskara u kategoriji Najbolji kratki animirani film.

GEZA M. TOTH is Hungarian artist, animation filmmaker, who has been working also as a lecturer at several animation film institutes such as: Animation Department of the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest; Royal College of Art, London, UK; National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India; Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, Ludwigsburg, Germany. Managing Director of the KEDD Animation Studio. His productions were successfully screened at different festivals all over the world. In 2007 his short film, Maestro was nominated for Oscar by the American Academy in category of Best animated short film.

Od 1993. godine je gostuju}i predava~ na predmetu scenario u animaciji na Filmskoj akademiji u Ludvigsburgu. O filmu Nema mesta za Gerolda: „Film je zasnovan na uobi~ajenom, svakodnevnom scenariju. Kao slu~ajno, kamera se na|e u stanu koji deli grupa životinja. Ono što sledi je scena koja se ponavlja stotinu puta na dan izme|u nosoroga, krokodila, gnuova i nilskih konja u kuhinjama širom Nema~ke.“

DANIEL NOCKE was born in 1968, in Hamburg. He studied at the Filmakademie Baden-Würtemberg, 1994-1999. Nocke works as script writer and animation director in Hamburg. Since 1999. he is a guest lecturer for script animation at the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg. About No Room For Gerold: ’’The film is based on a normal, everyday scenario. As if by chance, the camera finds itself in an appartment shared by a group of animals. What follows is a scene repeated hundreds of times a day between rhinos, crocodiles, wildebeests and hippos, in kitchens across Germany.’’

BIF is a directing collective incubated within the studios of The Mill in London. It comprises Fabrice Le Nezet, Francois Roisin and Jules Janaud, all animation graduates of the Supinfocom class of 2005.

Pecoraped imagined ten dimensions. Their idea is developed by fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood which in this animated work expresses the sixth dimension.

PECORAPED, umetni~ka grupa koju ~ine mlade japanske autorke Ikue Sugidono i Mijako Nišio, formirana je 2006. godine. Registrovana je na univerzitetu u Hirošimi, a prvu izložbu su imale februara ove godine u Tokiju.

PECORAPED is a creative unit, as its members Ikue Sugidono and Miyako Nishio call their artistic frinendship. Pecoraped was formed in 2006. and registered at Hiroshima City University. Their first exibition took place in Tokyo, 2007.

THE BLACKHEART GANG je družina prijatelja sa straš}u prema umetnosti. Svaki od njih poseduje veštine i talente kojima ostvaruju neverovatno dinami~nu saradnju. Ri Trevik je ilustrator i ona razvija karaktere (radi kao freelance iustrator). Markus Smit (Wormstorm) je muzi~ar i tekstopisac (ima sopstveni muzi~ki studio neobi~nog imena: Kažihvala). Jan Hendriks je kompozitor i kreativni direktor The BHG (radi kao kompozitor i dizajner za BlackGinger Visual Effects). Svi žive u Kejptaunu i svi su samouki.

THE BLACKHEART GANG is a collective of friends with a passion for the arts. Each member has their own sets of skills and talents that form an incredible collaborative dynamic. Ree Treweek is an illustrator and character developer for The BHG. Ree is 27 and works as a freelance illustrator. Markus Smit (Wormstorm) is a musician and writer for The BHG. He is 24 and has a music studio called SayThankYou. Jannes Hendrikz is a Compositor and the Creative Director for The BHG. Jannes is 26 and works as a compositor and designer for BlackGinger Visual Effects. They all live and work in Cape Town, South Africa, and are all self-taught.

Džinovski tigar se misteriozno pojavljuje u velikom gradu, i otkriva druga~iju realnost u no}i koja je mogla biti sasvim obi~na... Tigar je kratki film inspirisan istoimenom poemom Vilijama Blejka. Njegova vizuelna naracija ima strukturu muzi~kog spota. Pomešali smo mnogo stilova i tehnika da bi dostigli ravnotežu izme|u jedinstvene perspektive pri~e i slike haosa koja je tako|e predstavljena u filmu. A giant tiger mysteriously appears in a big city, revealing the hidden reality in an otherwise ordinary night. Tyger is a short film inspired by William Blake’s poem of same name.It’s a visual narrative with a structure that’s very similar to the one of a music promo. We blended many styles and technics to reach a balance between the unique perspective of the story and the image of chaos that’s also present in it .

GILJERME MARKONDEŠ (Sao Paulo, Brazil, 1977.) Po~eo sam sa ilustracijom oko 1998. godine dok sam još bio u Arhitektonskoj školi i prešao na animaciju 2000. u brazilskom studiju Lobo Filme, Tamo sam pet godina bio reditelj i animator rade}i za klijente kao što su Diesel, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon. Kao frilenser radim od 2005. godine, a poslednji radovi uklju~uju petomese~ni projekat za MTV International u Londonu, režiju intenzivne kampanje za Evropsku muzi~ku nagradu 2005, kao i uvodne sekvence za brazilsku sesiju festivala RESFEST. Moj film “Into Pieces” bio je na velikim festivalim poput Anesija i Otave, a osvojio je i nekoliko nagrada.

GUILHERME MARCONDES (1977, Sao Paulo, Brasil)I started illustrating around 1998, when I was still in Architecture school, and went to work with animation in 2000 at the Brazilian studio Lobo Filmes, where I was director and animator for five years, working for clients such as Diesel, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. I have been freelancing since early 2005. Recent freelance work includes a five months project for MTV International in London, directing the build-up campaign for the Europe Music Awards 2005 and the opening sequence for the Brazilian sessions at RESFEST Brasil. My film “Into Pieces” went to major festivals such as Annecy and Ottawa and won a few prizes.

Ovo je pri~a o jednom ~oveku koji obeležava godišnjicu smrti svoje žene. I o jednoj svinji. Glavno pitanje filma je da li se ~ovek uvek ponaša kao ~ovek, a svinja kao svinja? Ili je, možda, obrnuto?

This is a story about a man who commemorates his wife’s death. And about a pig. The main question of the film is does a man always behaves as a man, and a pig as a pig? Or maybe it is vice versa?

GŽEGORŽ JONKAJTIS (ro|en 1972) – Grafi~ar i animator, reditelj. Diplomirao je grafiku na akademiji lepih umetnosti u Varšavi. Njegov prvi animirani film Mantis (2001) osvojio je brojna priznanja i nagrade i na festivalima u Poljskoj i u inostranstvu. Ve}i broj godina radio je u ameri~koj kompaniji CafeFX (www.cafefx.com), ekspertizovanoj za specijlane efekte za velike holivudske produkcije. Jonkajtis je u~estvovao u kreiranju specijalnih efekata za filmove Liga džentlmena, Gotika, Hellboy, Sin City, Panov lavirint. Film Arka je dobio nekoliko nagrada u 2007. godini, me|u njima i festivala SIGGRAPH u SAD.

GRZEGORZ JONKAJTYS (born in 1972) - Graphic and Animation Artist, Director. Graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. His debut short animated film entitled Mantis (2001) gained widespread acclaim winning numerous prizes at Polish as well as international film festivals. For many years now he has been working in an American company, CafeFX (www.cafefx.com). It specializes in special effects for big Hollywood productions. He took part in creating special effects to such films as The League of Gentlemen, Gothika, Hellboy, Sin City or Pan’s Labyrinth. This year Ark was awarded several times, and one of the prizes is SIGGRAPH (USA) Best of Show Award.

VUK JEVREMOVIC was born in Frankfurt on Main (Germany) but spent his childhood in Belgrade and on the island of Hvar (former Yugoslavia). Graduated from Architecture at the University of Belgrade in 1984. He moved to Munich in 1991 where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. His inclusion into the animation world was due to an accidental encounter with one renowned animator from Zagreb, Nedeljko Dragic. Vuk’s film Panther (inspired by a R.M.Rilke’s poem) , won 15 international awards and came into final balloting for the Oscar award (1998) as the best short animation. EMILIO RAMOS ro|en je u Meksiko Sitiju 1972. godine. Na polju animacije radi osam godina. Ve}ina njegovih radova su nastali za reklamne svrhe. Od 2004. godine živi u Barseloni gde je i magistrirao animaciju na univerzitetu Pompeu Fabra i zapo~eo rad na filmu Magla (Niebla). Ovo ostvarenje prikazano na festivalu Siggraph u Bostonu, osvojilo je prvu nagradu žirija kao i nagradu publike na festivalu ArtFutura 2006, najpoznatijem festivalu umetnosti, kulture i digitalne tehnologije u Španiji. Magla je nagra|ena i specijalnim priznanjem žirija na poslednjem izdanju festivala animacije u Hirošimi.

EMILIO RAMOS was born in Mexico City in 1972. He has worked in the animation field for eight years. Most of his completed works were done for advertising. Since 2004 he lives in Barcelona where he completed his Masters in Animation at the Pompeu Fabra University and started work on Niebla (Fog). This short, which screened at the most recent Siggraph in Boston, also won the first Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2006 edition of ArtFutura, the foremost Spanish festival of art, culture and digital technology. Niebla was the winner of the Special Jury Award at the latest edition of the Hiroshima International Animation Festival.

SIMON BOGOJEVI]-NARATH je ro|en u Hrvatskoj 1968. godine. Diplomirao je 1992. na Akademiji lepih umetnosti u Zagrebu i postao ~lan Društva likovnih umetnika Hrvatske (HDLU). Od 1993. godine po~inje da se bavi 2D i 3D kompjuterskom animacijom, a 1997. postaje umetni~ki direktor zagreba~ke kompanije Kenges. Izme|u 1997. i 1999. producirao je eksperimentalni video film Bardo Thodol, zasnovan na Tibetanskoj knjizi mrtvih, koji je osvojio nagradu Oktavijan za najbolji eksperimentalni video film na Danima hrvatskog filma i videa 2000. godine. Od 2004. godine je na Akademiji lepih umetnosti u Zagrebu i Umetni~koj akademiji splitskog Univerziteta gde predaje elektronsku animaciju.

SIMON BOGOJEVIC-NARATH was born in Croatia in 1968. Graduating in 1992 at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, he became a member of the Croatian Artists’ Association (HDLU). He began working with 2D and 3D computer animation in 1993, In 1997 he became an art director in Kenges, a Zagreb based company. Between 1997 and 1999, he produced an experimental video-film, Bardo Thodol, based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead, which won the Oktavijan Award for best experimental video-film at the Days of Croatian Film and Video in 2000. Since 2004 he is a member of the core faculty at the Arts Academy, University of Split lecturing on Electronic Animation and Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.

IGOR CORIC was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1978. He graduated from paintings in Belgrade, 2002. He works continuously so that he already finished more than 50 animated films, and about 20 illustrated books for children and textbooks. Igor participated in numerous festivals and artistic events in Serbia and all over the world. Leftovers was awarded at Animotion Festival in Sibiu, Romania, as the best short film, 2007.

ANETA JUNG je ro|ena 1978. godine u Beblingenu, u Nema~koj. Godine 1999. bila je stipendista u filmskom studiju „Stumm-Film“ in Ludvigsburgu. Naredne godine upisala je studije animacije a Akademiji za film i televiziju „Konrad Volf“ u Potsdamu. Od jeseni 2005. godine (kada je i diplomirala) radi kao freelance animator, ilustrator i filmski autor.

ANETTE YUNG was born in 1978. in Böblingen (Germany). In 1999 she had an internship at the Filmstudio „Stumm-Film“ in Ludwigsburg. In 2000. Anette attended Animation studies at the Academy of Film & Television (HFF) „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam. Since autumn 2005. (she graduated as animator with diploma in the very same year) working as a freelance animator, illustrator & film-maker.

ADRIJAN LOKMAN (1960) je diplomirao ilustraciju i animaciju na umetni~koj akademiji u Roterdamu, 1986. godine. Poseduje studio za vizuelne komunikacije u Roterdamu, zajedno sa Lizbet Konik. U svom radu Lokman istražuje granice kompjuterske animacije. To je rezultovalo njegovim prvim filmom Barcode (2001), koji je bio u selekciji mnogih me|unarodnih festivala animacije i poneo je priznanja za inovativnost. Izme|u ostalih, nagra|en je Gran prijem u Anesiju i na Holandskom festivalu animacije. Jos jedna izuzetna osobenost Lokmanovog rada je simbioza muzike i slike. U filmu Prognoza, muziku je komponovao Oskar van Dilen, a izvodi je Telesto Trio.

ADRIAAN LOKMAN (1960) studied illustration and animation at the Art Academy of Rotterdam, from which he graduated in 1986. He has his own studio for high-quality visual communication, Lokman Productions based in Rotterdam, together with Liesbeth Konink. In his own work, Lokman explores the boundaries of computer animation. This resulted in his first short film Barcode (2001), which has been selected for many international animation festivals and has won acclaim for its innovative use of computer animation. Among others, it won the Grand Prix at the Annecy animation festival and at the Holland Animation Film Festival. Another distinguishing feature of Lokman’s work is the symbiosis of music and image. In Forecast the music was composed by Oscar van Dillen and performed by the Telesto Trio.

ŠPELA ^ADEŽ je ro|ena u Ljubljani, 1977. godine. Studirala je na Akademiji lepih umetnosti Univerziteta u Ljubljani od 1996-2002. godine. Za to vreme bila je na jednogodišnjoj razmeni studenata u programu Erazmo, u Nema~koj, na odseku za dizajn Univerziteta u Esenu. Diplomiravši 2002. godine na dizajnu vizuelnih komunikacija, studirala je i na Akademiji za umetni~ke medije u Kelnu, na odseku za dizajn medija. Bolesni od ljubavi je njen diplomski film.

ŠPELA ^ADEŽ was born in 1977 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She studied at Academy for Fine Arts at University of Ljubljana from 1996-2002. During this time she was an exchange Erasmus student in Germany, University Essen, Department of Design for one year. After her diploma degree in Visual Communication Design (2002) she studied at Academy for Media Arts, Cologne, Department for Media design. Lovesick is her graduation film.

Film Ukus života ispituje vezu izme|u ljubavi i hrane. Kao i lanac ishrane, postoji i lanac ljubavi – da bi nekog voleo, i taj neko mora da voli. I baš kao u lancu ishrane, i lanac ljubavi je krug, završava se na svom po~etku. Crnohumornom vizurom film nastoji da secira prirodu ljubavi da bi dospeo do poimanja ukusa života.

The connection between love and food is examined in the film Taste of Life. Like the food chain, the love chain also exists – in order to love someone, that someone must also love. And just like the food chain, the love chain is also circular and ends where it starts. Through black humour, the film attempts to dissect the nature of love and to arrive at an understanding of what life tastes like.

Pre dolaska u Veliku Britaniju, 1998. godine, Mark Kresti je uveliko radio u studijima animacije u Sidneju i Kopenhagenu. Dizajnirao je i režirao mnoge nagra|ivane reklame uklju~uju}i i zna~ajne radove za Orange, Compaq, Lloyds Bank i, mnogima najomiljeniji, ’BIG WIN’, spot za Nacionalnu lutriju. Mark je tako|e dizajnirao i režirao tri kratka filma iz serije PICA TOWERS koji su postali kult me|u njegovim poštovaocima. Mark trenutno radi na novom kratkom animiranom ostvarenju za Studio aka, a na pomolu je i njegov prvi dugometražni projekat.

Before coming to the UK in 1998, Mark Craste worked extensively in animation studios in Sydney and in Copenhagen. He has designed and directed many award-winning commercials including memorable work for Orange, Compaq, Lloyds Bank and much-admired ’BIG WIN’ spot for the National Lottery. Marc also designed and directed three short films in the series PICA TOWERS that have become cult viewing for many fans. Mark is currently in production on a new animated short with Studio aka and is developing his first long form project.

Grent Or~ard se pridružio Studiju aka 1997 godine i ubrzo skrenuo pažnju na sebe idiosinkrati~nim dizajnom i sposobnoš}u da projektu pri~e iz mnogo razli~itih uglova. U potpunosti izmi~u}i svakoj kategorizaciji, Grent je kreirao TV reklame za razli~ite klijente kao što su Compaq, Virgin i Orange. Nedavno je na~inio 10 mini filmova za QOOBtv. Pod zajedni~kim nazivom LOVESPORT, svaka epizoda govori o sportovima poput skijanja, sumo rvanja, skokova u vodu, stonog tenisa, na jednostavan, originalan i zabavan na~in.

Grant Orchard joined Studio aka in 1997, where he soon gained attention for his idiosyncratic design and his ability to approach projects from many different angles. Truly impossible to categorize, Grant has created TV commercials for clients as diverse as Compaq, Virgin and Orange. Recently he created 10 mini-films for QOOBtv. Under the banner LOVESPORT, each episode interprets sports like skiing, sumo, high diving (and even ping-pong) in a original, funny & deceptive simple manner.

Nieto je ro|en u Kolumbiji gde je i studirao vizuelne komunikacije i gde je po~eo da radi kao art direktor u razli~itim agecijama za advertajzing. Preselio se u Francusku kada je odlu~io da se usredsredi na filmsku režiju. Njegov kratki film Carlitopolis, snimljen na kraju studija u Francuskoj, osvojio je nekoliko nagrada kao što su Adobe nagrada za dostignu}a 2006 i nagrada publike na festivalu kratkog metra u Klermon Feranu. Nieto alias Profesor Nieto kreirao je sopstveni šou u kome predstavlja interaktivnu animaciju izvode}i ’eksperimente’ na razli~itim vrstama životinja.

Nieto was born in Colombia where he studied visual communication and started working as an art director in different advertising agencies. He moved to France where he decided to focus on film direction. His short film Carlitopolis, shot at the end of his studies in France, won several awards such as the 2006 Adobe achievements awards and the audience awards in Clermont Ferrand short film festival.Nieto alias Professor Nieto has created his own show in which he presents interactive animation performing unusual ’experiments’ on different sorts of animals.

Milan Marinkovi} je diplomac Fakulteta umetnosti u Nišu na odseku za grafi~ki dizajn. U periodu 2000-2005 radio je na postprodukciji/animaciji nekoliko kratkih igranih filmova, muzi~kih spotova i brojnih reklama (Evropski pokret Srbije, Voda-Voda, Fungi planet). Sa Igorom Jovanovi}em i Milošem Mitrovi}em (kao LOSHPIXEL) 2005. godine radi na celokupnom vizuelnom identitetu i reklamnoj kampanji festivala ZALET u Zaje~aru.

Milan Marinkovi} graduated from the Faculty of Art in Niš at the Department of graphic design. From 2000 till 2005 he worked on postproduction/animation of several short films, music videos and numerous commercials (European movement of Serbia, Voda-Voda, Fungi planet). Po završetku studija grafi~kog dizajna u Parizu, Eduar Salije je po~eo da radi sa kompozitorom i muzi~kim producentom Doctor L, pa je dizajnirao omotnicu za njegov album i režirao njegov prvi spot Mountains. Salije je ostvario vrlo širok raspon grafi~kih radova, filmova, promotivnih spotova, televizijskih identifikacionih džinglova, kao i instalacija. Njegov stil ~vrsto oslonjen na grafi~ki dizajn je ~itavih pet godina privla~io pažnju na alternativnoj audiovizuelnoj sceni. Salijeov kratki film Empire and Flesh zapo~inje 2005. godine svoj put oko sveta (Venecija, Sandens, Pariz, London, Njujork, Toronto, Hamburg, Seul...) donose}i svom autoru i nagrade sa brojnih festivala.

After graduating in Graphic Art and Design studies in Paris, Edouard Salier started working with the composer and music producer Doctor L, designing his record sleeves and directing his first music video, Mountains. Salier has created a wide range of graphic works, short films, promos, tv idents and installations. With a style that is heavily rooted in graphic design, his work has been making noise on the audiovisual underground for five years. In 2005 Salier’s short films Empire and Flesh started touring around the world (Venice, Sundance, Paris, London, New York, Toronto, Hamburg, Séoul...), and winning several awards at the festivals.

Kristine Lang je ro|ena (1972) i odrasla u Bremenu. Radi kao filmadžija u Berlinu. Od 1992. godine radila je kao DJ (me|u prvim devojkama koje su se pojavile na nema~koj drum&bass i 2step sceni) i novinar. Stekla je zvanje master na studijama kulture 2001. godine iz istorije umetnosti i nema~ke literature, na univerzitetu Humbolt u Berlinu. Diplomirala je 2006. godine na Akademiji za umetni~ke medije u Kelnu. Bila je rezidencijalni umetnik u Villa Aurora u Los An|elesu, 2007. godine. Njen video spot za Quio So Dazed privukao je pažnju na me|unarodnim festivalima osvojivši i nekoliko nagrada.

Christine Lang was born (1972) and grew up in Bremen. Christine works as a filmmaker in Berlin. Stefani Margerit je upisala EMCA u Angulemu 2005. godine posle završene likovne umetnosti na ESI. Upravo je diplomirala na EMCA. Le café je njihov diplomski film.

Emilie Tarascou (1984) enrolled atthe EMCA (School of animation) in Angouleme 2005 after having graduated in fine arts. She has just finished her degree in EMCA and is going to enroll La Poudrière, a renowned french school for the direction of animated films. Stéphanie Marguerite enrolled the EMCA (School of animation) in Angouleme in 2005 after a fine arts degree at the ESI. She has just graduated from the EMCA. Le café is their graduation film.

Patrik Bero alias Volve ro|en je 1972. godine u Parizu. Studirao je matematiku i audiovizuelne komunikacije usavršavaju}i se kao inžinjer zvuka u školi za sliku i zvuk u Angulemu. Potom se godinu dana obu~avao na CFT Gobelins u Parizu kao asistent postprodukcije. Patrik je od 1998. godine do sada na~inio veliki broj kratkih filmova (Vidéo Montevidéo, Space on Earth, Hi Mum...). Njegov talenat filmskog montažera-specijaliste za zvuk i efekte zna~ajan je doprinos produkciji METRONOMIC i osnova za njegove VJ nastupe u Parizu.

Patrick Beraud - a.k.a. Volve - was born in France in 1972. He studied math and audiovisual communications, with a speciality in sound engineering from the school of image and sound at Angoulême (France). Then he received a year’s training at CFT Gobelins (Paris) as a post-production assistant. Patrick has made a number of short films since 1998 (Vidéo Montevidéo, Space on Earth, Hi Mum...). As a film editor specialising in sound and effects, he contributes his talent to the Metronomic group and his various VJ performances in Paris.

NORVEŠKA ANIMACIJA

Prvi norveški dugometražni animirani film, “Velika nagrada Pin~klif”, reditelja Iva Kaprina (1975), bio je veliki uspeh: videlo ga je pet miliona ljudi u Norveškoj, zemlji sa samo ~etiri miliona stanovnika... Ipak, prošlo je dvadeset tri godine pre novog dugometražnog ostvarenja, “Gurin sa lisi~jim repom”, premijerno prikazanog 1998. godine.Ali, norveška animacija nije bila u potpunost mrtva tokom tih dvadeset i nešto godina. Od po~etka devedesetih godina, postojalo je nekoliko malih studija za animaciju koji su pravili kratke filmove, muzi~ke spotove i reklame. S po~etka, studiji su bili vrlo mali, ali od 1998. godine pet novih celove~ernjih animiranih filmova je realizovano, tako da sada gotovo da možemo govoriti o norveškoj industriji animacije, sa brojem zaposlenih koji je ve}i nego ikada, i koja pokriva dugi metar, televizijske serije, reklame i industriju zabave.U 2007. godini, film Kristofera Nilzena “Osloboditi Džimija” nagra|en je u Anesiju kao najbolji animirani dugometražni film, a film “Danski pesnik”, autorke Turil Kove, dobitnik je Oskara za najbolji kratki animirani film. Dakle, ovo je sjajna godina za norvešku animaciju!Program norveških kratkih filmova na festivalu ANIMANIMA u ^a~ku sadrži neka od najzna~ajnijih animiranih ostvarenja nastalih u Norveškoj za poslednjih šesnaest godina.

NORWEGIAN ANIMATION

The first animated Norwegian feature film ”Pinchcliffe Grand Prix” directed by Ivo Caprino, (1975), was a huge success - it was seen by 5 million people in Norway, a country with only 4 million inhabitants... Still it took 23 years before the next animated feature, ”Gurin with the foxtail” premiered, in 1998. But Norwegian animation was not completely dead for 23 years. Since the early 1990s several small animation studios have existed, making short films, music videos and commercials. In the beginning the studios were very small. But since 1998 five new Norwegian animated features have been released. Now we can almost talk about a Norwegian animation industry, with more people than ever employed in the animation field, covering features, tv series, commercials and the game industry.In 2007 the Norwegian feature ”Free Jimmy” by Christopher Nielsen won prize for best feature in Annecy. Torill Kove’s ”The Danish Poet” was awarded with an Oscar for best animated short film. So, this is a very good year for Norwegian animation!The Norwegian short film programme at the ANIMANIMA Festival in Cacak contains some of the most important Norwegian animated short films from the last 16 years.

PJOTR SAPEGIN je ro|en u Rusiji, 1955. godine. U Norveškoj živi i radi od 1990. godine i sada je i državljanin Norveške. Sapegin je 15 godina radio kao scenograf u pozorištima u Moskvi, me|u njima i Baljšom Teatru. Animacijom je po~eo da se bavi po dol-asku u Norvešku. Sapegin je jedan od osniva~a studija za ani-maciju Studio Magica u Oslu, ali sada vodi sopstvenu kompaniju PRAVDA PRODUCTIONS (ustanovljenu 2001. godine) sa Dejvi-dom Reisom Andersonom i Mikelom Sandemuseom. Sapegin je autor velikog broja kratkih filmova koji su osvajali i nacionalne i me|unarodne nagrade (njegov film One Day a Man Bought a House osvojio ih je više od 20), kao i mnoštva izuzetnih ani-miranih reklamnih spotova.

PJOTR SAPEGIN was born in Russia in 1955. He has been liv-ing and working in Norway since 1990 and is now a Norwegian citizen. Sapegin has worked for 15 years as stage designer on theatres in Moscow, among them at the Bolshoj theatre. He started to work with animation films after moving to Norway. Sapegin was one of the founders of the animation studio Studio Magica as in Oslo, Norway, but is now running his own produc-tion company, Pravda Productions (established 2001) with Da-vid Reiss-Andersen and Mikkel Sandemose. Sapegin has made a number of short films, which have won both national and in-ternational awards. His film One Day a Man Bought a House has won more than 20 national and international awards. Sapegin has also made a number of internationally acclaimed animated commercials.

Pravda je nezavisna kompanija koja se bavi filmskom produk-cijom. Sedište je u Oslu, a osnovali su je 2001. godine reditelji Pjotr Sapegin, Mikel Sandemuse i Dejvid Reis-Andersen i produ-cent Erik Skeien. Pravda je do sada proizvela veliki broj kratkih filmova i muzi~kih videa, kao i više od 160 televizijskih rekla-ma, uglavnom za norveške, ali i me|unarodne kilijente. Osim osniva~a, Pravdu danas ~ine i reditelji Erik Soldbjarg, Andre Ovredal i Erik Aure. Svi oni su dobitnici nagrada ili nominacija na festivalima i takmi~enjima, kao što su glavni festivali kratkog metra u svetu, Advertising festival u Kanu, Eurobest i Cresta, ili Berlinski filmski festival.

Osniva~i PRAVDE

Pjotr Sapegin (1955, Moskva) je posle šesnaest kratkih filmo-va, jednog dugometražnog i sa više od šezdeset me|unarodnih nagrada postao jedan od najpriznatijih norveških animatora.Mikel Sandemuse (1974) je karijeru zapo~eo u Caprino Film Stu-dio, uz svog dedu Bjerna Sandemusea. Potom je radio kao asis-tent režije sa Sapeginom. Posle studija filmske režije postao je deo Pravde, gde danas radi kao režiser reklama i muzi~kih spotova, a priprema i svoj prvi dugomtražni projekat.Dejvid Reis-Andersen (1972) je završio studije likovnih umet-nosti, politike i istorije na univerzitetu u Oslu. Radi kao reditelj muzi~kih spotova, reklama i kratkih filmova.Erik Skeien (1972) je menadžer Pravde, kao i producent reklama. Obrazovanje je sticao prou~avaju}i filmske nauke na koledžu Lilehamer u Norveškoj i filmsku produkciju u Londonu. Radio je na televiziji i u nekoliko produkcijskih kompanija u Lodonu i Oslu pre nego što }e 2001. godine postati suosniva~ Pravde.

Pravda is an indipendent film production company based in Oslo. Pravda was founded in 2001 by directors Pjotr Sapegin, Mikkel Sandemose, David Reiss-Andersen and producer Erik Schoien. Pravda has produced a number of short films and mu-sic videos as well as over 160 TV commercials, mostly for Nor-wegian advertisers, but also for international clients. Besides its owners, Pravda today includes the directors Erik Skjoldb-jaerg, Andre Ovredal and Erik Aure. The Founders of PRAVDA

Pjotr Sapegin (1955, Moscow) has become, after 16 short films, one feature-lenght and over 60 international awards, one of Norway’s most acclaimed animation directors.Mikkel Sandemose (1974) started his career in Caprino Film Studio with his grandfather Bjarne Sandemose, and than he worked as a director’s assistent for Sapegin. MTV ADRIA AND ANIMATION

MTV has been closely related to animation ever since its very beginnings, not only because of music videos, but also due to announcements for different shows, award presentations, television advertisements, ‘art breaks’ and most of all to its entire graphic design.Current graphic design, that is now used by numerous European MTV stations, is called Electro Folk and from its very beginning it doesn’t stop stirring up a lot of dust. The idea of Electro Folk is based on the relationship between the past and the future – a flirt between the featureless and faceless electronic and digital culture on one side, and the traditional spirit of narrating tales on the other. This graphic design combines cultural differences and diversities of central and eastern Europe, central Asia and the Middle and the Far East, and all these elements are included in all forms that appear on MTV Adria. The Electro component represents a minimalist and fast form which is very convenient, without being the most prominent feature.The Folk component represents the very essence of this new design with its humane element. In every region within MTV, as well as within MTV Adria, we discover different traditional stories, full of unusual and invented characters and images, that, even nowadays, various musicians and narrators use as their inspiration. Today, these stories are already considered to be urban myths and can be heard on different occasions and in very different places.About Electro Folk, as an idea for MTV’s graphic design, MTV’s art director said: ‘ I wanted new design to have rich texture, to be

MTV je tesno povezan sa animacijom još od samih po~etaka i to ne samo zaslugom muzi~kih video spotova, ve} i zahvaljuju}i najavama razli~itih emisija, dodelama nagrada, oglasa, kratkim umetni~kim pauzama i naj~eš}e celokupnom grafi~kom izgledu.Aktuelni grafi~ki imidž, koji su po~etkom ove godine preuzeli brojni evropski MTV, nosi naziv Electro Folk i od samog po~etka podiže veliku prašinu. Ideja »Electro Folk« izgra|ena je na odnosu prošlosti i budu}nosti – poigravanja izme|u smirenog i jure}eg, izme|u elektronske i digitalne kulture bez osobenosti i stvarnog lica sa jedne strane i tradicionalnog duha narodnog pripovedanja pri~a sa druge strane. Grafi~ki izgled udružuje razli~itost i raznolikost kultura Srednje i Isto~ne Evrope, Srednje Azije i Bliskog i Srednjeg Istoka, a elementi su uklju~eni u sve oblike pojavljanja MTV Adrije. »ELECTRO« komponenta je brza i minimalisti~ka, tako da je svuda prikladna i ujedno potpuno nenametljiva. Komponenta »FOLK« predstavlja dušu novog imidža, faktor ljudskosti! U svakoj regiji unutar MTV-ja i tako unutar MTV Adrije nalazimo razli~ite narodne pri~e, pune neobi~nih i izmišljenih likova i slika, koje i danas inspirišu razli~ite muzi~are, pripoveda~e i sada ve} urbane mitove i pri~aju se u vrlo razli~itim prilikama i na najrazli~itijim mestima.Kreativna menadžerka MTV-ja je o Electro Folku, kao ideji za grafi~ki imidž, rekla slede}e: »Želela sam da novi imidž ima snažnu teksturu, da bude ru~no nacrtan i prilagoljiv. da bi obuhvatio vreme u kome živimo i novo komunikacijsko oru|e koje koristimo. Najve}i izazov bio je da se ostvari robni identitet sa kojim }e mo}i da se poistovete razli~iti narodi iz razli~itih kultura, sa vrlo razli~itim ukusima i iz vrlo razli~itih država, odnosno oblasti.« Na ovoj ta~ki treba pomenuti i tzv. kratke umetni~ke pauze ili »art breakove«. Šta je uopšte »art break« ? U najavi našeg konkursa u aprilu 2007. opisali smo ga kao »vizuelni utisak koji obuhvata kreativni trenutak odn. ideju koja se u najrazli~itijim tehnikama ostvaruje u okviru 5-15 sekundnog bumpera. Izbor tehnike prepušten je pojedincima – to može biti animacija, crtež, obra~ena fotografija, film...«. Rezultati su bili odli~ni jer smo dobili »art breakove« od više od trideset autora iz celokupne regije koji su se najradije služili upravom animacijom – na jedan ili drugi na~in. Ipak, samo animacija nije dovoljna – u prvom redu je važna odli~na i druga~ija ideja, a tako|e je bitno i znanje i vladanje razli~itim programskm oru|ima za izradu same animacije.

When we announced our open competition, in April 2007, we described it as ‘a visual impression that captures the creative moment, that is to say the idea, that realizes itself through a wide range of techniques in a 5-15 seconds long bumper. The authors are given a free choice of techniques – it can be an animation, drawing, photograph, film ...’.The results were excellent, since we got ‘art breaks’ from over thirty authors from the whole region. Most of these authors used animation as their technique – one way or the other.However, animation alone is not enough – the most important thing is an excellent and unusual idea, but also the knowledge and usage of different techniques used in animation.

ANESI – ME\UNARODNI SAJAM I FESTIVAL ANIMIRANOG FILMAAnesi je mesto održavanja najve}eg me|unarodnog festivala u potpunosti posve}enog animaciji, a tako|e i predstavlja je-dinstveni stru~ni sajam na kome se, tokom tri dana, sastaju i povezuju ljudi iz sveta industrije animiranog filma.Nakon 40 godina od svog postojanja, takmi~arski deo festivala je sada podeljen u 5 kategorija (igrani film, kratki film, poru~eni film, TV film, diplomski film) koje pružaju mogu}nost za upotre-bu razli~itih tehnika. U selekciju festivala za 2007. godinu je ušlo 1882 filma, a ove godine u središtu pažnje je posebno dugometražni animirani film koji je u takmi~arskom delu pred-stavljen sa 9 filmova.Sajam animiranog filma Mifa predstavlja jedinstveni doga|aj u svetu koji na jednom mestu okuplja filmske stvaraoce i stru~njake iz sveta televizije, kinematografije, kablovske i satelitske industrije. Predstavlja idealno mesto, pogodno za uspostavljanje novih kontakata, upoznavanje novih talenata, pregovaranje o svih aspektima produkcije, distribucije i emi-tovanja, upoznavanje sa novim ure|ajima i postupcima, kao i za pronalaženje novih poslovnih partnera i nov~anih sredstava.Sposobnost festivala da prikaže i promoviše industriju ani-miranog filma u svim razli~itim oblicima, doprinela je da se Anesi širom sveta smatra središtem zbivanja za ljude koji se profesionalno bave animacijom.Jednostavno, ovaj festival je nešto što se ne sme propustiti!

ANNECY – THE INTERNATIONAL FAIRAND FESTIVAL OF ANIMATED FILMAnnecy is the location for the greatest competitive interna-tional festival entirely dedicated to animation and a unique professional trade fair, where all the people from the animation industry come together for three days of networking and ad-vanced projects.After forty years of its existence, the Festival competition is now classified into five different categories (feature films, short films, commissioned films, TV films, graduation films) giving a great diversity of techniques. ANIMANIMA 2007 predstavlja budu}nost srpske animacije: u programu WORK IN PROGRESS, nekolicina doma}ih autora u interakciji sa publikom živopisno do~arava “slatke muke” nastajanja animiranih ostvarenja sa kojima }e uskoro u pohod na svetske festivale.

ANIMANIMA 2007 represents the future of Serbian animation: in the program WORK IN PROGRESS, several authors, in the interaction with the audience, picturesquely conjure up “sweet throes” of creating works of animation with which they’ll be making foray into world festivals.

Imperator je odavno osvojio veliki deo Evrope. U jednoj maloj zemlji, ~iji narod još nije u potpunosti pokoren, ra|aju se naraštaji ~iji su preci odavno prihvatili nametnutu veru i obi~aje. Iskre sukoba me|u sunarodnicima su sve ~eš}e i bolnije. Na jednom ~oveku leži sav teret odluke. Stilizovana igrano-animirana forma, savremeni minimalisti~ki pristup u predstavljanju epskog dela, desaturisanost boja, 2d, 3d animacija, kompoziting sa živom slikom i kombinacija živih i virtualnih likova ~ine da ovaj film Lazara Bodro`e i Jovane Toki} ne govori tipi~nim filmskim jezikom.

It’s been a long time since the Emperor conquered the big part of Europe. In a small country, whose people haven’t been com-pletely conquered yet, new generations are born. Their ances-tors accepted the religion and customs imposed on them long time ago. The sparks of conflict between people are becoming more frequent and more painful. The whole burden of decision falls upon one man. It is a stylistic combination of a feature and animated film. Mod-ern minimalist approach used in presenting this epic, 2-D and 3-D animation, vivid images and the combination of real and virtual characters make this film atypical in any aspect, espe-cially the language that uses. The authors are Lazar Bodro`a and Jovana Toki}.

CLOSING TIME je trejler za kratkometražni animirani film o odrastanju odnosno o neodrastanju i prikazuje ljudske odnose kroz prizmu uslovljenosti i straha. Autori su Uroš Obradovi} i Marko Milankovi}.

CLOSING TIME is a trailer for the short animated film about growing up, that is to say not growing up. It portrays human relations through the prism of different conditions that must be fulfilled and fear. The authors are Uros Obradovic and Marko Milankovic.

Izvesni Kiza, po zanimanju domar, sa svojom ženicom živi u ma-lom stanu u okviru zgrade fakulteta. Me|utim, ovaj sredove~ni ~ova je strah i trepet na fakultetu: on gvozdenom pesnicom zavodi red me|u studentima, koji su frustrirani svakodnevnom torturom i zlostavljanjem. Tenzija }e kulminirati kada jedan od njih odlu~i da digne svoj glas protiv fakultetskog tiranina. Epska bitka koja usledi izmeni}e živote svih u~esnika.Trides-etominutna akciona komedija, DOMAR, je urnebesna animirana pri~a Nikole Vulovi}a.

Some guy named Kiza is a janitor. He and his wife live in the little apartment in the Faculty building. However, this middle-aged dude is a disaster for the students who are frustrated with daily torments of his iron-fisted regime. The tensions will culmi-nated when one of the student decide to rise his voice against faculty tyrrant. Epic battle that follows will change the lives of all the participants. Thirty minutes length action comedy THE JANITOR is hillarious animated story by Nikola Vulovic.

Zbog problema sa fakultetom, Edit rešava da pribegne alternativnom metodu polaganja ispita. Njen prijatelj Herb joj prodaje ~ip sumnjivog porekla koji bi mogao da joj pomogne, da koriste}i vezu izme|u svesti i podsvesti, pove}a svoje intelektualne sposobnosti. Me|utim niko i ne sluti da }e ~ip, pošto Edit sticajem okolnosti u istraživa~kom centru TDR vidi grafikon misteriozne formule, postati svestan samog sebe i po~eti prvo mentalno a onda i fizi~ki da se razvija kao Editina paralelna li~nost .

Because of her problems at the university, Edith decides to resort to an alternative way of passing her exams. Her friend Herb sells her a microchip of suspicious origin which could help her increase her intellectual abilities by using the connection between her consciousness and the subconscious. But nobody can even suspect that, after Edith sees the mysterious formula by chance in researching center TDR, the microchip is going to become aware of itself and start developing as Edith’s parallel personality, first mentally and then physically as well.

FAKTOR 4 je pilot epizoda kompjuterski animirane serije ra|ene prema istoimenom stripu, u okviru studija Loudworks. Žanrovski, Faktor 4 spada u nau~nu fantastiku sa superherojskim elementima. Radnja se odvija u budu}nosti i prati sudbinu ~etvoro tinejdžera koji poseduju natprirodne mo}i.

FACTOR 4 is the pilot for the digital animated series based on the comic of the same name for the Loudworks studio. As for the genre, Factor 4 falls into science fiction with some superheroic elements. The story is set in the future and follows the lives of four teenagers who have supernatural powers.

Kiza is the school janitor, who enforces school’s hygienic policies with an iron fist. The students are frustrated with daily torments and abuse, but only one decides to strike back. This will lead to the conflict of immense magnitude, which will mark the participants for the rest of their lives.

Rubena, privatnog detektiva. Glas sa druge strane mu kaže da je posao obavljen i da }e novac biti preba~en na njegov ra~un. Da li je Ruben naš junak? Dolazi u detektivovu sumnjivu kancelariju, gde mu zbunjena sekretarica saopštava da je Sem odsutan. Ona nema predstavu ko je naš junak. ]orsokak. U automobilu ponovo zazvoni telefon. Sekretarica javlja Rubenu da je Dejvid Hadson upravo bio u kancelariji.Te no}i, naš junak provaljuje u Rubenovu kancelariju i krade Hadsonov dosije. Fotografija u dosijeu se savršeno poklapa – ON je zapravo Dejvid Hadson... ili ipak nije?Tako naš junak ulazi u pakleni svet smrtonosne prevare i bezgrani~ne izopa~enosti, o~ajni~ki pokušavaju}i da povrati svoj identitet u središtu košmara gde je seks jedina stvar koja je prljavija od laži, a ono što je jedino sigurno, jeste da ništa nije onako kako se ~ini.

Nighttime, LA. Our hero opens his eyes, regaining consciousness. Above him, the Hollywood sign flashes. Parked nearby, there’s a car and a dead cop. And next to the cop, a gun. Judging by the way it fits the holster he’s wearing, it looks like our man’s the killer. And he can’t remember a damned thing - how he got there; what happened; who he is. Sirens scream through the night - time to run. Our hero gets into the dead cop’s car and splits. In the car, his cell phone rings - it’s a call for Sam Ruben, private detective. A voice tells him the job’s done and the money will be wired into his account. Is our hero Ruben? He visits the detective’s seedy offices, where a nonplussed secretary informs him that Sam’s away. She has no idea who our hero is. A dead end. Back in the car, the phone rings again. It’s the secretary, calling to tell Ruben that David Hudson was just in the office. That night our man breaks in to Ruben’s office and steals Hudson’s file. The photo in the file is a perfect match - he is David Hudson... or is he? Thus our man enters a hellish world of lethal deception and limitless depravity, desperate to regain his identity at the heart of a black, white and blood-red nightmare where the only thing filthier than the lies is the sex, and the only sure thing is that nothing is what it seems.

Borivoj Dovnikovi~–Bordo ro|en je 1930. u Osijeku. Jedan je od pionira hrvatske/jugoslovenske animacije i Zagreba~ke škole crtanog filma. Radi na animaciji od 1950. kao crta~ i animator, a vlastite autorske filmove stvara od 1961. Godine 1950/51. u~estvovao je u realizaciji prvog zagreba~kog crtanog filma Veliki miting, koji se smatra po~etkom moderne hrvatske animacije, a istovremeno i njegove profesionalne karijere. Paralelno s animacijom, Bordo od 1950. kontinuirano radi na karikaturi, ilustraciji, stripu i grafi~kom dizajnu.U svojoj 55-godišnjoj karijeri osvojio je za svoje animirane filmove tridesetak me|unarodnih nagrada. Nagrade za životno djelo primio je u TREVISU, Italija, BIRMINGHAMU, SAD, na BALKANIMI u Beogradu, te Plaketu JUGOSLOVENSKE KINOTEKE, a u Hrvatskoj u MOTOVUNU, u svom rodnom OSIJEKU, i, na kraju, republi~ku Nagradu VLADIMIR NAZOR. Bordo je prikazao retrospektive ili programe svojih filmova u preko ^etrdeset gradova svijeta, kao i u programima Zagreb filma na svih pet kontinenata. Borivoj Dovnikovic Bordo was born in 1930 in Osijek. He is considered to be one of the pioneers of animation in Croatia and Zagreb school of animations. He has been working as a cartoonist and animator since 1950 and has been making his own animated films since 1961. In 1950/51 he was involved in the making of the first cartoon made in Zagreb, called ‘The Big Rally’, which marked the beginning of both the modern Croatian animation and his own professional career. Besides animation, Bordo has been continuously working as a cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer ever since 1950.In his 55 years long career he has won about 30 prestigious international awards for his animated films. He received the awards for lifetime achievement in Treviso (Italy), Birmingham (USA), at BALKANIMA in Belgrade, as well as the award given by JUGOSLOVENSKA KINOTEKA and the award VLADIMIR NAZOR.Bordo has shown retrospectives of his films in over 40 cities all over the world and also in the selection of ZAGREB FILM on five continents. His textbook for animators, The School of the Animated Film, was published in 1983 and 1996 in Zagreb, then in its Czech translation in 1985 and 2006 in Prague, in French in 2000 in Paris and recently in Belgrade. SKD Prosvjeta, 2006. godine u Zagrebu. Bordo je bio ~lan žirija ili selekcijskih komisija na osamnaest me|unarodnih filmskih festivala u Evropi, Sjevernoj Americi i Aziji. Ucestvovao u vodstvu zagreba~kog Me|unarodnog festivala animiranih filmova od njegovog po~etka (1972), a kao direktor Festivala od 1985. do 1991. Od 1977. do 1982. bio je ^lan Upravnog odbora ASIFA-e, Me|unarodne asocijacije animiranog filma, a od 1994. do 2000. njen generalni sekretar. 2007.

Bordo was a member of the jury at 18 different international film festivals in Europe, North America and Asia. He took part in the organisation of the International Festival of Animated Films in Zagreb from its beginning (1972), and from 1985 to 1991 he was the president of the Festival. From 1977 to 1982 he was a member of the board at ASIFA, the International Association of Animated Film, and from 1994 to 2000 its general secretary.

Those outstanding films represent the world-famous Russian school of animation in the best possible way. The Mountain of Gems project is an exceptional undertaking of the contemporary Russian culture – an amalgam of the traditional literature and modern animated film, that produces a result worthy of admiration. The organizers of the ANIMANIMA 07 festival dedicate this presentation of Mountain of Gems films to a memory of recently passed away Alexander Mikhaylovich Tatarskiy (1950-2007), renowned Russian animator, screenwriter and director.

Moskovski studio animacije PILOT predstavlja prvi ruski edukativno-zabavni projekat, kreiran za decu od 5 do 12 godina i usmeren na to da ukaže na svu nacionalnu i kulturnu raznolikost njihove zemlje. Više od trideset filmova iz serije zapo~ete 2003. godine ve} je završeno. Filmovi su prikazani na državnom televizijskom Kanalu 1, pozdravljeni od strane novinara, kulturne i politi~ke javnosti. Projekat Planina dragog kamenja je dobio veliki broj nagrada na festivalima u Rusiji i u inostranstvu, a oven~an je i “Zlatnim orlom”, najve}om ruskom nagradom za kinematografiju.Ovi izvanredni filmovi koji dostojno predstavljaju u svetu nadaleko poznatu rusku školu animacije su izuzetan poduhvat za savremenu rusku kulturu: spoj tradicionalne narodne književnosti i umetnosti animiranog filma dao je rezultat vredan divljenja. They have been shown on Russia’s Channel One and have been highly acclaimed by the press as well as a number of prominent political leaders and public figures. The Mountain of Gems project has received many awards at different Russian and international film festivals, including the most prestigious award of Russian cinematography, the Golden eagle.

Stripom sam se „zarazio“ polovinom osamdesetih, i tada, otprilike, po~eo sam i da ih crtam. Prvi profesionalni angažman kao crta~ (fazer) dobio sam 1989. godine u Biki} studiju za animaciju i kome sam ostao do 1991. godine. Bio je to period kada sam po~eo da objavljujem prve radove: u ~asopisu Tron, pokrenutom 1992. godine, pojavljivali su u kontinuitetu. Osim u Tronu, bilo ih je i u Gradini, Voajeru, Strip maniji, Megatronu. Ilustracije koje sam radio objavljivane su u ~asopisima za decu Tik-Tak, Školarac, Veliko dvorište i Politikin Zabavnik.

Sa izdava~kom ku}om Kreativni centar sara|ujem više od deset godina. Bila je 2001. godina kada sam posredovanjem agenta iz inostranstva, g. ^abe Kopeckog, dobio angažman u poznatoj izdava~koj ku}i iz Pariza, ’Glena’ (Glenat,www.glenatbd.com) tako sam otpo~eo rad na serijalu L’EXPERT, po tekstu francuskog scenariste Franka Žirua (Giroud). Krajem 2007. godine, iz štampe izlazi i poslednja od ~etiri knjige koliko ima ova pri~a (Justice) .Otpo~eo sam rad i na novom serijalu za ’Glena’, GRAND REGISTRE, koji potpisuju scenaristi Damijen Perez i Sofi Rikom (Ricaum).

I became obsessed with comics during the mid 80s, and that was about the time I started drawing them. I got my first professional engagement as a graphic designer at Bikic studio for animation, where I worked till 1991. That was the period when I started publishing my first works for the magazine Tron (which started in 1992 and published my works continuously). My works also appeared in the following magazines: Gradina, Voajer, Strip manija, Megatron. Some of my illustrations were published in several children’s magazines: Tik-Tak, Skolarac, Veliko dvoriste and Politikin Zabavnik.

I have been working in cooperation with the publishing house Creative Centre for over ten years. In 2001, thanks to Mr Caba Kopecki, an agent from abroad, I got an engagement in the well known publishing house Glenat (www.glenatbd.com) from Paris, and so I began my work on the serial L’EXPERT, based on the text of French screenwriter Franc Giroud. This story consists of four books and the last book (Justice) will be published towards the end of 2007.I also began work on my new serial for Glenat called GRAND REGISTRE, based on the text of two screenwriters Damian Perez and Sophie Ricaum.

KORA]NIKOLA KORA] je ro|en 1980. godine u Beogradu, gde i danas živi i radi. Diplomirao na Fakultetu primenjenih umetnosti, odsek grafika, 2006. U poslednjih nekoliko godina u~estvovao na više grupnih izložbi grafike, crteža i stripa.

O izložbi: Slike su nastale u periodu izme|u 2005. i 2007. godine, na više lokacija u Beogradu. Estetika stripa i naglašena dvodimenzionalnost su osnovne odlike ovih radova na kojima autor predstavlja likove iz popularne kulture i svog okruženja propuštene kroz filter li~nih podsvesnih vizija.

NIKOLA KORAC was born in 1980 in Belgrade. He lives and works in Belgrade. He graduated from the Faculty of Art, at the graphic department, in 2006. Over the past couple of years he took part in several group exhibitions of graphics, drawings and comics.

About the exhibition: The pictures were made between 2005 and 2007, on several locations in Belgrade. The aesthetics of comic and pronounced two-dimensional shape are the main

INTRUDER Sastav INTRUDER osnovali su 1991. godine u Beogradu Nebojša Markovi} i Ivan Halupka. Od samih po~etaka Intruder se bavi istraživanjem u oblasti elektronske muzike. Prvobitno je to bila forma koja bi se mogla nazvati ambijentalnim elektro popom, da bi se vremenom pretapala u eksperimente sa ranim oblicima tehno muzike i raznih podžanrova. Danas bend nastupa kao petorka koja vam predstavlja novi talas elektro-pop muzike, plesnu, energi~nu i melodi~nu formu, jedinstvenu na ovim prostorima.

Nebojsa Markovic and Ivan Halupka founded the band INTRUDER in 1991, in Belgrade. From its very beginnings, Intruder has researched into the field of electronic music. At first, it was a form that could be classified as ambient electro pop, but after a time it became a fusion of early forms of techno music and similar sub genres. Today, it is a band of five people, presenting the new wave of electro pop music and a style of popular dance music in its energetic and melodic form, which makes the band unique in this region.

MISTAKEMISTAKEMISTAKEMISTAKE je ekipa iz Beograda okupljena oko eklekti~ne up beat kombinacije elektronske muzike sa ragga-reggae i garage-2step momentima, ili kako oni sami sebe vole da nazivaju – “Hip-electro-ragga-2-hop reggae-step”.Cela pri~a oko benda je po~ela sa dvojicom bra}e – Ivanom i Edijem Bonom – koji su svoj specifi~ni elektro stil razvijali u sosptvenoj, ku}noj produkciji. Kasnije su im se pridruživali razli~iti umetnici sa li~nim doprinosima stvaranju muzike ovog benda. U osnovi, Ivan i Edi su pravili muziku za koju su ostali ~lanovi benda pevali vokale ili poklanjali nesto od svoje umetnosti. Samo ime Mistakemistake proisti~e iz koncepta da je svako umetni~ko delo nastalo na grešci.MISTAKEMISTAKE is a Belgrade crew that gatheres different members into the eclectic, up beat combination of electro sound, with a hint of ragga-reggae and garage-2step (as they like to call it “Hip-electro-ragga-2-hop reggae-step”). It all started about 1997, with Bon brothers, Ivan and Edi, who developed their electro style in their home production. For years, Mistakemistake welcomed members that had something of their own to add to their art expression. Basically, the two brothers made tracks and joined members added vocals and sometimes other sequences. The name Mistakemistake descends from the concept that every art creation is based on mistakes.
