Currently playing around with different labour saving ways of getting futuristic city shots, they will feature heavily in my final major project so its important that I can make them in a way that is economical.
I started by making some 3D buildings in Cinema 4D.

After the modelling was complete I imported the mesh into quartz composer, set it up in 3d space, animated the global camera movement and placed the composition into a trackball patch so the camera can be moved via mouse.

The result was exactly what I was looking for: a quick way to get different camera angles (with organic movement) of a 3d city without having to render it out each time to see how it looks.
I then decided to see if quartz can be used to give the buildings the 'unreal effect' that I require, so I hooked up a data bending to make them react to sound.

Although this came out fairly well I think the best way to distort the buildings would be to render them out with a transparent background and distort them in after effects. This will give me much more freedom to explore the way the buildings relate to each individual shot.
