About the Automotive New Markets ProgramThe Automotive New Markets Program (ANMP) is a $42 million competitive merit based grants program. It is jointly funded by the Australian Government as one element of the Automotive New Markets Initiative under A New Car Plan for a Greener Future and the Victorian Government. It commenced in 2012-13 and will run for four years. The ANMP was developed by the Australian, Victorian and South Australian governments and is administered by the Australian Government Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (‘the Department’).

Application processApplications under the ANMP will be assessed in rounds. The opening of application rounds will be advertised nationally. Applications will not be accepted after the closing date. It will not be possible to include any new material or make significant changes to the application after the closing date. Applicants may be asked to provide additional information or clarification to their original applications.A grant must be for a minimum of $50,000 and up to a maximum of $1 million. A grant will be limited to a maximum of two years.Applications must be submitted electronically to [email protected] by 13 September 2013.

A business plan should detail strategies that will enable you to carry on sustainable operations in the Australian automotive industry. Where appropriate, it should include your company’s strategic/future direction, operational plans, details of financial commitment and controls, and any projections and assumptions (including financial) on which the project is based.

(optional) Project commercialisation plan (If developing a new product) or customer strategy (if targeting new customers). The project commercialisation plan and/or customer strategy may be included as part of the business plan.

A project commercialisation plan should set out the commercialisation potential of your product and your company’s commercialisation strategy. It should include information such as: what is driving demand, what market research and consultation you have undertaken and what the results were, what work has been done to test demand (attach relevant supporting documents), competitor analysis, route to market, plans to match/beat competitors, estimated market share and barriers to market entry.

A customer strategy should include information such as: customers you are targeting, their interest in your product, how you will meet the customers’ needs, a long-term strategy to attract new customers and retain the current customers, and estimated length of relationship with a customer.
