1. CAMPUSES AND COURSES OF STUDY
The following B.E. / B.Tech. Degree courses are offered on Part Time evening programme mode in theUniversity Departments of Anna University, Chennai – 25.
2. DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The duration of the programme is 3 1/2 Academic years comprising 7 semesters.
3. CLASS HOURS
Classes will be held from 6.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. on all working days and classes may also be held duringday time on sundays / holidays at the discretion of the faculty concerned.
Candidates seeking admission should satisfy the admission authorities that they will be in a position toattend the classes in the evenings and also on holidays and fulfill the requirements regarding attendanceas laid down by the University from time to time.

Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions given below as on the last date of submission of applicationare eligible to apply. No change in claims made in application will be permitted after the last dateprescribed for submission of application.
a) QualificationCandidates should have passed any one of the 3 years Diploma course in appropriate branch ofEngineering / Technology of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu from anAICTE approved institution or its equivalent.
b) Year of passing DiplomaCandidates should have passed the diploma examination in the relevant branch of specialisationatleast two years before the last date prescribed for submission of application.
c Place of workCandidates should be working in a place within a distance of 120 km from the college to whichhe/she seeks admission so as to enable him / her to attend the classes regularly by 6.15 p.m. and theplace of working should be in Tamil Nadu.
d Age limit
No age limit is prescribed for admission to B.E. / B.Tech. Part Time degree courses.
e Employment
a Candidates who are working professionals at the time of admission alone are eligible.
b Candidates should have a minimum of two years full time work experience in a registered firm /Company / Industry / Educational / Government and Autonomous organizations in the relevant fieldin which admission is sought at the time of admission.
f Mode of Study
The mode of Diploma study shall be Full Time or Lateral Entry or Part-Time. Candidates studied indistance mode are not eligible.

Marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying Diploma Examination shall be reduced to 75 markswill be considered for selection as given below.

ii Marks for Work Experience
Marks for work experience shall be calculated from the succeeding month of passing the qualifyingdiploma examination to the last date prescribed for the receipt of completed application. Maximum25 marks for work experience shall be calculated as follows

iii Preparation of Merit List
Merit list will be prepared as per ranking based on the marks obtained by the candidate in theQualifying Diploma examination and the marks awarded for the period of service adopting theweightage proportion 75:25 and evaluated for a total of 100 marks.
In cases where more than one candidate have got the same marks in the common rank list, inter-serank among such candidates shall be determined in the order of priority as given below.

7. COMMUNAL RESERVATION
7.1. Selection shall be made under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM BC Muslim, MBC & DNC, SC,SCA and ST reservation following the rules of communal reservation of the Government ofTamilNadu.
7.2. Tamil Nadu native Candidates alone will be considered for communal reservation. The list ofcommunities is given in Annexure –I on Page No. 15 to 21.
a Candidates seeking admission under ST/ SC/ SCA/ MBC & DNC/ BC & BCM Muslim quota shouldobtain the certificate of social status issued by the competent authority in the Permanent Communitycard format or Electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate prescribed by the Government of TamilNadu and upload a self attested photocopy of the same along with the online application.Community Certificate in paper format will not be accepted.

b The applicants from Tamil Nadu State should have obtained permanent community certificate in cardformat or Electronic Form or Digitally sighed e-certificate for SC/SCA/ST/MBC & DNC, BC and BCMuslim candidates), only from the authorities given in the table on or before the last date prescribedfor submission of filled-in online application.

c For Communities linked with districts Refer Annexure -I the candidates should obtain theirCommunity Certificate in their respective district. Community Certificates obtained from other thantheir respective district will not be considered and they will be treated under Open Competitioncategory. However, candidates who belong to BC, MBC and DNC communities in a particulardistrict and migrated to other places in Tamil Nadu and obtained Community Certificates fromcompetent authorities in the migrated district on or after 28.10.2009, will be considered as per G.O.St No. 95 BC, MBC & Minorities Welfare Department, da ted 28.10.2009.
d Community Certificate obtained from Other States will not be considered for communal reservation.Other state candidates working in Tamil Nadu will be considered under Open Competition OCCategory only.
e Candidates who have not enclosed the self attested photocopy of the Permanent CommunityCertificate in card format or electronic form / digitally signed e-Certificate at the time of submissionof the application will be treated under OC Category. In the event of such a decision, the eligibilityconditions and rules prescribed for OC category will be applicable for such candidates and if suchcandidates do not satisfy the rules of “OC Category” their applications are liable to be rejected. Nocorrespondence in this regard will be entertained.

f Candidates who have passed IX std. / X std. /qualifying Diploma examination outside Tamil Nadu willbe considered under Open Competition category only. However, Tamil Nadu Native candidates whohave studied either IX std. or X std. or Diploma outside Tamil Nadu and claim communal reservationshould enclose a copy of Nativity Certificate only in electronic form / digitally signede-Certificate along with the filled in online application, otherwise they will be considered under OCcategory.
8. DIFFERENTLY ABLED PERSONS CATEGORY
Five percent of seats are reserved for Differently Abled Persons @ 1% for each of the followingcategory :
a Blindness and low vision.
b Deaf and hard hearing.
c Locomotor disability including cerebral paisy, leprosy cured dwarfism acid attack victims andmuscular dystrophy.
d Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness.
e Multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses a to d in cluding deaf-blindness inthe programme identified for each disabilities
Candidates seeking admission against the reservation set apart for Differently Abled Persons shouldupload the certificate obtained from the District Medical Board certifying the nature and extentof disability in percentage and with regard to the suitability for admission to EngineeringColleges as mentioned in section No. 8.1.
The Competent Authority to issue Disability Certificate shall be a District Medical Board dulyconstituted by the State Government. The District Medical Board shall consists of a minimumof three members Chairman and two Members out of which atleast one shall be aspecialist depending on the disability prescribed.
Certificate obtained from an individual doctor will NOT be considered.
The medical certificate should be in the prescribed format given in Certificate No. I, II & III.
The certificates should have been obtained prior to the last date prescribed for registration andsubmission of online application indicated in the notification.

8.1 Eligibil ity Criteria for various Disabil ities
a. Norms for Locomotor disability including cerebral paisy, leprosy cureddwarfism acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy
Candidates with permanent physical impairment of 40 % and above are considered as disabled.The candidates with Orthopaedic Disability of the following types are eligible for claimingadmission against Differently Abled Persons Category Certificate No. I on Page No. 22
i Independent in ambulance with or without calipers but without walking aids.ii Good standing balance without calipers but without any support.iii Hand Function with normal limit without any aidiv Good control over bladder & bowlv Disease must be non -progressive
b. Norms for Deaf and Hard Hearing
Candidates with hearing ability of 40 db and above only in the better ear with speechdiscrimination score of 50 % and above are considered as disabled. Certificate No. IIon Page No. 23
c. Norms for Blindness & Low visionCandidates with low vision of 40 % and above are considered as disabled. CertificateNo. III on Page No. 24
Low Vision: Persons with low vision means a person with impairment of vision of less than6/18 to 6/60 with best correction in the better eye or impairment of field in any one of thefollowing categories:

9. COUNSELLING
Counselling will be based on the rank and communal reservation.
Rank list and counselling schedule date, time and cut -off mark will be published inAnna University Website. All the eligible candidates should download the “Intimation ofCounselling” Call Letter from Anna University Website. The eligible candidates who haveapplied and whose marks are as specified or above the cut-off mark called for counselling, mayappear with their original certificates List will be available in Anna University website twohours before the counselling session. College and branch will be allotted only through counselling asper their rank following communal reservation. Candidates are advised to visit Anna UniversityWebsite: http://www.annnauniv.edu/bept2018 for counselling details. Counselling will be heldat Centre for Entrance Examinations and Admissions, Anna University, Chennai-25 only.Candidates should attend the counselling at their own cost and risk. Candidates who do not attendthe counselling on the specified date and time cannot claim any right for admission at a later date.
If any candidate could not download “Intimation of Counselling” Call Letter he /she shouldreport to the Enquiry office at the Centre for Entrance Examinations and Admissions withevidence for having applied for Part-time B.E. / B.Tech. degree programme 2017-2018. Candidate, ifeligible after verification, will be issued a duplicate call letter.
The counselling schedule will be published in the website of Anna University, Chennai-25http://www.annnauniv.edu/bept2018 before the commencement of counselling.
10. Present Employment Certificate Refer Certificate No. IV on page No. 25
Candidates can download the format for Present Employment certificate No. IV fromAnna University website. Present employer must fill this certificate. The candidates should upload acopy of this certificate. Registration of Application without uploading this certificate willbe rejected.
Candidates with experience certificate issued by organisations / Institutions other than Government /Quasi Government Department should also upload any one of the following:
1. TNGST Certificate / CST Certificate / TIN Certificate.
2. Certificate of Registration under Companies Act. / SSI Registration Certificate / Certificateof any statutory body.
3. Government approved contractors registration certificate current year) License No. withlatest I.T. clearance certificate for private individuals other than companies.
4. GPF statement, Pay slip, etc.

Note: The Period of Training / Apprenticeship will not be counted for experience.
The period of work experience will be taken from the succeeding month ofpassing the qualifying Diploma Examination to the last date prescribed forRegistration of applications.
Work experience will be taken into account only if the Registration /Certificate number of the companies is clearly mentioned in the workexperience certificate, otherwise the period of experience will not beconsidered.
Offer of appointment letter / relieving order will not be considered in lieu ofwork experience certificate.
Date of joining and date of relieving should be clearly mentioned in theexperience certificate.
Work experience certificates should be in the employer’s letter head withTNGST / CST / TIN / TAN / RC / License No. etc.
If the candidate had worked in foreign countries, he/she should producecertificate in the employer’s letter head clearly mentioning the date ofjoining and date of relieving and the nature of work etc. Further, copies ofpassport and work visa have to be uploaded. In the visa / passport, if theentries are in languages other than English, translation from the authorisedinstitution of the same in English should be produced.
11. GUIDELINES TO FILLUP THE APPLICATIONRegistration of only one application is sufficient for College of Engineering GuindyCampus, Alagappa College of Technology Campus and Madras Institute of TechnologyCampus, Chennai.
a Enter all the details required in the application form.
b The name should be entered as in SSLC or its equivalent certificate. Change in name/ initial, ifany, should be supported with Gazette notification. In the case of women candidates, othervalid evidences such as marriage registration certificate will be accepted.
c Registration fee ` 600/- for General category and ` 300/- for SC/SCA/ST candidatesbelonging to Tamil Nadu should be paid only through online mode by using Credit Card / DebitCard / Net Banking.
