Triangular Simulacrum
Demonstrates a Competence and Understanding ofthe Subject Matter of the Major
The garment titled Triangular Simulacrum was inspired by geometric patterns, shapes, and the art deco style of the 1920s. Decorative art marks geometric motifs, defined lines, bold colors, and symmetry. This garment possess many different angles in many aspects. I draped most of this garment, eventually forming pattern pieces. Creating defined lines was a challenge, but the garments angles and corners finished off right. The shape of the piece, in addition to the geometry of the pattern print, makes this garment visually appealing and interesting to view. With it’s asymmetry, triangluar repetition, and cuneate neckline, Triangluar Simulacrum is both adjacent and irregular.
